CRACK is a physics-flavored co-op work sim, not a traditional physics-puzzle game. You and up to three friends clock into a laboratory, chip through one enormous egg, sell the fragments, and reinvest the money in drills, explosives, scaffolding, carts and robots. The shell and your constructions obey physical rules, but the main structure is a persistent upgrade-and-mystery loop rather than a sequence of short, resettable levels.
Choose CRACK on Steam if you want a cheap, funny online job for a friend group. Choose World of Goo 2, Poly Bridge 3, Bridge Constructor Portal, Cut the Rope or Angry Birds 2 if you want authored solo puzzles in which physics itself is the central challenge.

What is CRACK, exactly?
CRACK (Steam app 4312190) is a first-person, one-to-four-player incremental adventure by solo developer Rafoli. It launched on Windows, macOS and Linux through Steam on 26 October 2026. The premise is deliberately simple: Hatch Corp has a building-sized egg in a laboratory, and your job is to open it without asking too many questions.
The official store description calls it “a 1-4 player co-op incremental adventure about uncovering what’s inside a mysterious giant egg.” The joke becomes a progression system. Every fragment you remove can be sold, and the resulting cash buys a more efficient way to remove the next layer. As the developer puts it, “every crack earns money, every payout buys a better way to crack.”

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
You begin with a pickaxe and chisel. Later purchases include shovels, drills, jackhammers, dynamite, scaffolding, golf carts, collector bots and a robotics bay. Tools wear out, so replacement costs remain part of the economy rather than disappearing once you unlock a higher tier.
The egg is not an inert resource node. A monitor tracks its agitation, and repeatedly hammering one location fills that meter faster. Sedation can postpone a reaction, but charges are limited. Coverage of the launch and pre-release builds describes seven possible reactions, from a power outage to spawned tentacles. Highly agitated areas can regrow unless you install Support Spikes. The interior also changes dramatically: reports mention shell, tissue, calcite and bone, as well as parasites that must be rushed to a processor before they explode.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Each work shift lasts only a few real-time minutes. If you miss the walk back to your bunk, the company charges you for a “complimentary” sedative. An end-of-day recap includes a camera time-lapse of the crew, while the laboratory AI comments on your performance. Trailer signage captures the tone: “PERSONNEL REMAINING ON THE FLOOR WILL BE PENALIZED” and, at the end, “YOU ARE REPLACEABLE.”
Beyond the resource loop are hidden doors, locked rooms, lore, a passcode door visible from the beginning and multiple endings. A preview reported two endings in its build, including one requiring non-obvious actions; the developer’s broader claim is simply “multiple endings,” so do not treat the preview count as a final total.
Is CRACK a physics-puzzle game?
Only in a broad sense. CRACK uses a real-time physics simulation for shell fragments and player-built structures, but it does not present the usual physics-puzzle format of a level, a precise objective and a reset button.
A physics-based game normally makes forces such as gravity, friction, momentum, collisions or joints the core challenge. In a classic physics puzzler, the designer gives you a bounded problem and you discover a solution by manipulating that simulation. Angry Birds asks whether a trajectory and impact will collapse a structure. Cut the Rope asks which constraint to release, and when. World of Goo asks whether a soft, flexible network can support its own mass.
CRACK applies those ideas inside a continuing workplace. The shell is physical: you cannot simply click a health bar until it disappears. You have to move around the surface and target new fragments as they break from the body. Scaffolding is physical too. Poles, floors and supports must be arranged so the structure carries its load; unsupported sections fall, and bolts loosen over time. Those systems create satisfying local problems, but the larger objective is still to earn money, buy tools and reach the next area.
The most accurate description is destruction and construction inside a persistent co-op incremental simulation. It is closer to a social indie job game with physics toys than to a new World of Goo. If your search for “CRACK vs World of Goo” means “which game has the better engineered, self-contained puzzles?”, CRACK is answering a different question.

How does CRACK compare with traditional physics-puzzle games?
The choice depends more on session shape and player count than on whether both games contain gravity. This table puts the practical differences first.
| Axis | CRACK | World of Goo / World of Goo 2 | Poly Bridge 3 / Bridge Constructor Portal | Angry Birds 2 / Royal Smash! / Cut the Rope |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session structure | One persistent lab, timed shifts, one egg | Discrete story levels in chapters | Discrete engineering levels, often with sandbox play | Short, resettable mobile levels |
| Players | Solo or online co-op for 1–4 | Solo | Primarily solo | Solo |
| What physics does | Breakable shell pieces and scaffold collapse within an upgrade loop | Soft-body structures are the puzzle | Structural load, materials, stress, hydraulics and budget | Trajectories, collisions, ropes and timing |
| Progression | Money to tools, automation, secrets and endings | Level packs and story chapters | Campaign worlds, unlocks, sandbox and leaderboards | Boxes, maps, events and live-service additions |
| Price at the research date | $7.99 on Steam; $6.79 introductory price through 2 November 2026 | World of Goo 2 is $9.99 on mobile; the original is also available through several storefronts and Netflix Games | Poly Bridge 3 mobile pricing is about $3–$5; Bridge Constructor Portal is $1.99 | Generally free with advertising and optional purchases |
| Platforms | Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux at launch | PC, mobile and Switch for the original; World of Goo 2 also has mobile and other releases | PC and mobile, depending on the game | Mobile-first |
| Tone | Corporate comedy with mild horror and mystery | Charming, satirical and story-driven | Engineering sandbox and experimentation | Casual arcade |
What makes CRACK different from World of Goo?
World of Goo is the purer physics-construction choice. You build towers and bridges from living Goo Balls, and the network’s mass, center of gravity and attachment points determine whether it stands. The official 2D Boy description calls it “an award winning a physics based puzzle / construction game.” Its campaign is authored: each level introduces a spatial problem, gives you a limited set of pieces and expects you to solve it.
World of Goo 2 expands that formula to five chapters and more than 60 levels. Its mobile release adds liquid goo plus Jello, Growing and Explosive species; the $9.99 iOS and Android version is listed without advertising. The original has also appeared on PC, mobile, Nintendo Switch and Netflix Games, so it is easier to play as a solo premium puzzle than CRACK’s four-seat co-op model.
CRACK instead gives you one workplace that changes over time. Money and equipment are persistent, and the mystery encourages you to revisit spaces rather than solve a level and move on. The physical feedback is strongest when shell chunks shear away or a badly supported scaffold collapses. It is less suitable if you want every screen to be a tightly authored test of structural reasoning.
Is Poly Bridge 3 a better choice for serious engineering puzzles?
Yes, if your priority is open-ended bridge design and learning how structures fail. Poly Bridge 3 offers more than 150 levels across a dozen worlds, plus sandbox construction and leaderboards. Budgets and material limits force you to reason about triangles, stress, suspension, hydraulics and jump timing. Screenwise describes it as a stealth-learning bridge game because the rules teach engineering concepts without presenting a formal lesson.
Mobile pricing reported for 2026 is approximately $3–$5: the iOS version is free to try with a $4.99 Unlock All purchase, while Google Play lists a $2.99 paid app. There are no ads listed for those versions. This is a one-player, repeatable engineering toy; it does not need a shift clock, a shared wallet or a group of friends.
Bridge Constructor Portal is the more compact alternative. It combines bridge building with Portal-style spatial rules across 60 test chambers, with GLaDOS voiced by Ellen McLain. At $1.99 on both major mobile stores and with no ads listed, it is a low-cost one-shot for players who want a defined campaign rather than CRACK’s incremental job.
Are Angry Birds and Cut the Rope really comparable to CRACK?
They are useful comparisons only when the reader means “physics games that are easy to start,” not “games with the same structure.” Angry Birds 2 and similar projectile titles reduce the problem to angle, force, material interaction and timing. Cut the Rope is a constraint-and-timing puzzle: cut ropes, move candy through hazards and feed Om Nom.

The current mobile version of Cut the Rope is reported to contain 425 levels across 17 boxes, with more than 100 million Google Play installs. The iOS Disable Ads option is listed at $0.99. Angry Birds 2 also exceeds 100 million Google Play installs and remains a live-service slingshot game with rotating events. Those games deliver five-minute sessions, quick retries and broad age appeal. CRACK asks for a longer commitment to the same laboratory and a group willing to coordinate.
Royal Smash!, Angry Smash and related projectile games occupy the same casual category. A 26 October 2026 chart placed Royal Smash! at number 19 among free iPhone games in the United States, with more than 10 million Google Play installs reported. Rankings and seasonal events change quickly, so treat those figures as dated snapshots rather than permanent status.

What are the best alternatives if I want creative physics rather than levels?
Brain It On!, Brain Dots and Dig This! let you draw or shape solutions instead of selecting a fixed tool. Dig This! is reported to have more than 10,000 levels, while Brain It On! and Dig This! each exceed 50 million Google Play installs. They are better fits for short, experimental sessions than CRACK’s resource grind.
If you want physics as a toy or teaching system on PC, look at spatial momentum and construction games such as Portal 2, Human Fall Flat, Besiege or Kerbal Space Program. They are adjacent rather than direct CRACK substitutes: one emphasizes portals and co-op timing, another ragdoll leverage, another machine construction and another orbital mechanics. Their usual one-time prices sit in the broader $10–$30 physics-game range cited by Screenwise, but their goals and complexity differ substantially.
Who should buy CRACK?
Buy CRACK when you have two or three friends who want a cheap, silly co-op activity. The closest audience is people who enjoy workplace or extraction-style indies such as Lethal Company, R.E.P.O., PEAK, RV There Yet? or How to Fish, but want less conventional horror and more upgrading. The shell gives everyone a tactile job, while hauling, construction and automation create natural roles.
- You like incremental upgrades and seeing a primitive tool become machinery.
- You enjoy exploring hidden doors, lore and multiple endings after the basic resource loop is familiar.
- You want online co-op for up to four people and proximity voice chat.
- Your computer is around the GTX 1050 Ti class and you prefer a small 3 GB install.
- You are comfortable with a workplace-comedy tone that can turn into mild horror and jump scares.
The 28 October 2026 “We Hear You” update also added public lobbies, a second-item pocket slot, Chill Mode and Offline Mode with a real pause, alongside fixes for connection hangs and a softlock. Those changes make solo and relaxed play more practical than the launch build’s strict shift-clock reputation suggests. Check current Steam news because later patches may change details.

Skip it if repeatedly striking one giant object sounds boring, if you want a large open world, or if you only play offline and do not want a single-lab campaign. It is also a poor match for players who want a pure sandbox with no narrative endpoint: the upgrade ladder and mystery are the reason to continue.
Preview coverage found that the resource grind could feel repetitive around six hours before the laboratory secrets became more prominent. Another preview described steady early progress, a noticeable jump when robots unlocked and thinner variety afterward, along with harmless geometry bugs and a stuck-escape-button issue. Those observations come from pre-release builds, not a complete final-game review. There is no official completion-time figure, concurrent-player chart or critic aggregate to establish how long the finished campaign lasts.

How much does CRACK cost for a group?
CRACK’s US list price is $7.99 on Steam, with a 15% introductory price of $6.79 through 2 November 2026. Every co-op participant needs an individual copy; there is no shared guest license in the supplied launch information. Four list-price copies cost $31.96, or about $27.16 during the introductory offer.
That group total is important when comparing it with a $9.99 solo campaign such as World of Goo 2. The latter gives one player more than 60 authored levels. CRACK’s price buys a shared activity for up to four owners, not four separate campaigns. Steam Family Sharing is listed among CRACK’s features, but availability and simultaneous-use rules are controlled by Steam’s current policy, so do not assume it replaces four purchases for a group playing at once.

Is CRACK well received, and how reliable are the early numbers?
The Steam store showed a Very Positive rating: 87% of 590 user reviews were positive at the research date in late October 2026. Review totals and percentages move daily, so this is a dated snapshot, not a permanent score. No critic aggregate for CRACK was available in the supplied material.
Rafoli also reported 120,000 wishlists in less than four weeks and more than nine million impressions on public development posts. Those are developer-stated figures reported through Games Press, not Steam-published sales or audience data. Steam does not publicly verify wishlist totals, and no first-party sales number was supplied.
What should you choose?
Choose CRACK for a four-person online job, persistent upgrades, physical destruction, scaffolding mishaps and a mystery inside one egg. The egg reacts, the lab hides secrets and the company comedy gives the loop a personality that a conventional level pack does not have.
Choose World of Goo 2 for the clearest premium physics-construction campaign: 60-plus authored levels, five chapters, creative goo types and a $9.99 mobile purchase with no ads listed. Choose Poly Bridge 3 for demanding engineering, budgets, stress and sandbox experimentation. Choose Bridge Constructor Portal for 60 inexpensive Portal-themed chambers.

In other words, CRACK is the right game when your question is “What can our group do with this egg tonight?” It is the wrong game when your question is “Which compact level gives me the most elegant physics solution?”
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play CRACK completely solo?
Yes. CRACK supports single-player, and the later Chill Mode and Offline Mode update make a relaxed solo run more feasible than the launch version. The economy and shift structure are still designed around repeated work in one laboratory, so solo play does not turn it into a conventional level-based puzzler.
Does CRACK have cross-platform multiplayer?
The launch information confirms online co-op across the Steam versions for Windows, macOS and Linux, but it does not document cross-platform matchmaking beyond Steam. Everyone joining the same session should own the game and use a compatible, up-to-date Steam installation.
What is inside the giant egg in CRACK?
The game deliberately withholds a single simple answer. Coverage describes layers including tissue, calcite and bone, hostile parasites, hidden areas and several possible endings; the developer’s wording is that the egg has secrets and reacts to what you do. Discovering the contents is part of the progression rather than a spoiler-free checklist supplied at the start.
Is CRACK suitable for children?
Its cartoonish workplace premise is balanced by mild horror, jump scares, tentacles, exploding parasites and corporate threats. The supplied accessibility information includes a Reduce Camera Motion option, but no age rating was provided here, so parents should check the current store rating and content descriptors for their region.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
How does CRACK compare with a physics sandbox such as Besiege?
CRACK gives you a focused laboratory, a finite upgrade economy and a mystery with endings. A sandbox such as Besiege is primarily about inventing machines and testing them repeatedly, so it offers broader mechanical experimentation but not CRACK’s co-op egg-job structure or shift-based narrative.
