The Cracked Bioscanner is a Rare Medical-category loot item in ARC Raiders. Keep two if you still need to upgrade your Medical Lab from level 1 to level 2; after that, whether to recycle, salvage, or sell it depends on the resources you need. Community databases list Medical areas as the broad place to search, but they do not establish a guaranteed spawn or drop rate.
What is a Cracked Bioscanner used for?
It is recyclable loot, not equipment. The ARC Raiders Wiki classifies it as Rare and Recyclable and lists Medical as its category. Its main documented progression use is the Medical Lab 1 to Medical Lab 2 upgrade.
Medical Lab 2 upgrade requirement
The community wiki lists this recipe:
- 2 Cracked Bioscanners
- 5 Durable Cloth
- 8 Tick Pods
That means you need two bioscanners for this upgrade; keep those until the lab upgrade is complete. The recipe is listed by the ARC Raiders Wiki and independently by ARCDBRaiders.
Where to find Cracked Bioscanners
The item entry lists Scavenging as its source and Medical as its found-in category. Treat Medical locations and their containers as a broad search cue, not a guaranteed room or spawn. A PC Gamer guide published November 11, 2025 describes searching cabinets and other containers in Medical locations, but it does not establish current spawn odds. A MetaForge guide updated September 20, 2026 recommends the Testing Annex on Dam Battlegrounds; that is secondary guide advice, not an official guarantee.

No source here provides a verified drop rate, average number of raids needed, or guaranteed spawn point. Search Medical loot containers while scavenging, but do not count on finding one in a specific room.
Recycle, salvage, or sell?
The ARC Raiders Wiki’s table, last modified February 1, 2026, lists recycling as yielding 3 Rubber Parts and 3 Batteries, and in-raid salvage as yielding 2 Batteries. ARCDBRaiders and MetaForge also list 3 Rubber Parts and 3 Batteries for recycling. These are community-database figures, not first-party confirmation; check the live game if the exact yield matters.
- Keep: Retain two if Medical Lab 2 is still an objective and you have not completed the upgrade.
- Recycle: The cited community references list 3 Rubber Parts and 3 Batteries as the recycling output.
- Salvage in raid: The wiki lists 2 Batteries.
- Sell: The wiki lists a value of 1,000 per item, but the available references do not establish that selling is better than converting it into materials.
Once the upgrade is done, choose based on your current material needs and whether you prefer the listed value over the listed conversion. There is no universally best disposal choice in the available item references.
