In Where Winds Meet, “Cries in the Distance” is Jianghu Legacy 06 in Qinghe. Start it by speaking to the Wayfarer at Moonveil Mountain, then track it from the Exploration menu. Follow the cries down from Moonveil Peak to a cave, free Brother Feng with the Fire Arrows and floor array, solve the four-pillar formation, and use Tai Chi to throw the Thick-Skinned Albino bear into three rock piles.
How to start “Cries in the Distance”
- Go to Moonveil Mountain in Qinghe and speak with the Wayfarer to unlock Jianghu Legacy 06.
- Open the Exploration menu, inspect the Jianghu Legacy entry, and select it to track the quest.
- Head toward Moonveil Peak. Use its fast-travel point if it is available; otherwise, travel there on foot.
Where to find the cave
At Moonveil Peak, follow the on-screen directional indicator toward the cries. The route leads down the mountainside to a cave entrance beneath a tree, below a ledge. Enter and follow the objective marker into the underground chamber until you reach the voice behind a wall.

How to free Brother Feng
- Pick up the nearby quiver to obtain Fire Arrows.
- Turn toward the side passage blocked by roots and shoot a Fire Arrow at the roots to clear the way.
- Go inside and stand on the floor circle. The array activates and opens the wall holding Feng Jisheng.
- Speak to Feng before moving on.
How to solve the Yin-Yang pillar puzzle
The formation has four pillars around a central Yin-Yang dial. Orient them as follows:
- Turn pillars 1 and 3 inward so they face one another.
- Rotate the central dial until its floor circles align beneath pillars 1 and 3.
- Turn pillars 2 and 4 outward so they face away from one another.
When the arrangement is correct, the dial sinks and opens the route below. If you have already moved the pillars or dial, work toward those same orientations and realign the dial; the solution depends on the pieces’ final positions, not a fixed number of turns.

How to defeat the Thick-Skinned Albino bear
This encounter is built around the environment rather than a conventional damage race. Use Tai Chi to seize the bear and throw it into each of the three rock piles around the cavern. After the encounter, loot the exposed chests and speak to Brother Feng to finish the quest.
