To solve the Forgotten Altar Abyss puzzle, burn the three thorn-vine barriers with Focused Light, place the recovered ball in the raised container, use the perimeter fans to reach the central apparatus, then activate Nature’s Snare in Focus mode. Once the whirlwind subsides, enter the block with Force Palm and use Force Palm on the floor inside.
How to reach Forgotten Altar
Follow this route: Spire of Clockwork > Riddle Square > Origin of Thoughts. Forgotten Altar is identified as an Abyss Restoration Challenge in The Wanderer’s Way cluster. Activate the Abyss Nexus when you arrive if it is available.
How to solve the Forgotten Altar puzzle
- Burn the vines. Go up the left-hand stairs to the ball and thorn-vine barriers. Use Focused Light on all three sets of vines to expose the ball.
- Move the ball. Take it to the container on the raised ledge and place it there.
- Use the perimeter fans. Return toward the Abyss Nexus and take the fan on the higher ledge to rise above the central apparatus. Follow the fans around the perimeter toward the next island or path.
- Stop the mechanism. Enter Focus mode and activate Nature’s Snare on the spinning mechanism. Success is indicated by the mechanism stopping and the whirlwind subsiding. Follow the on-screen control prompt; walkthroughs do not establish one reliable stick direction for every platform and input setup.
- Enter the block. Drop to the block below, climb onto its circular top, crouch, and use Force Palm to enter.
- Complete the Abyss. Inside the block, use Force Palm on the ground.
How to avoid common failures
- The wind lifts or traps you: Keep away from the central sand pit and airflow while crossing the area. Deal with the mechanism before attempting to pass through the center.
- The mechanism keeps spinning: Check that Nature’s Snare is unlocked, then activate it while in Focus mode. Watch for the whirlwind to subside as confirmation.
- You cannot find a route forward: Look for the perimeter fans and the next island or path instead of trying to cross the central hazard.
- Force Palm does not get you into the block: Stand on the circular top, crouch, and use Force Palm. Once inside, use the ability on the floor to finish.
Leaving Forgotten Altar
After completing the puzzle, use Force Palm on the circular part of the wall to leave, or teleport back to the Abyss Nexus if it is available.
