Pearl Abyss published Crimson Desert version 1.01.00 on March 28, 2026. Its headline changes are five summonable mounts, shorter loading for Abyss Trace travel and post-death respawns, and adjustments to movement and other controls. The developer also lists quality-of-life additions, quest and interface fixes, and performance and stability improvements.
The official Pearl Abyss patch notice listed the update as available on Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games Store, and the Mac App Store at the time of publication. That March 28 rollout schedule is historical; storefront availability may have changed since then.
New mounts and quality-of-life changes
Five mounts to obtain and summon
The update adds five mounts: White Bear, Silver Fang, Snowwhite Deer, Rock Tusk Warthog, and Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex. White Bear, Silver Fang, and Snowwhite Deer are identified as legendary animals; the Rock Tusk Warthog and Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex are boss mounts. Each becomes obtainable and summonable after completing conditions, but the notice does not specify those unlock requirements. Tamed animals can be brought into towns in Pywel.
Players who had already caught one of the legendary animals before the patch were due to receive its matching reward in the Extra Rewards List when entering the game.

Crafting, storage and materials
- Material chests: Chests containing materials were added throughout Pywel.
- Refinement Tokens: A token lets equipment be tempered up to Stage 4 without consuming additional materials. Certain main and faction quests can reward tokens; the notice does not give a complete quest-by-quest route.
- Make Now: Cook or craft from a selected recipe without separately choosing its ingredients.
- Store all selected items: Move selected inventory items to private storage. At Howling Hill Camp, the private-storage chest was moved from behind Karl to inside Kliff’s tent.
- Shop knowledge: Players can learn knowledge for all items sold by a shop at once; the stated learning time is three seconds.
- Farm grocers: Wholesale grocer NPCs were added to regional farms.
Other adjustments cover pets, wells, mining and lumber tools, Abyss Cells, the Knowledge Helm, treasure detection, Photo Mode, beds and campfires, banking, and lost or sealable items. The notice also addresses inventory expansion beyond the maximum 240-slot limit: additional expansion items are granted as boxes containing crafting materials and other items.
Movement, flight and combat controls
Movement and flying
Player and horse movement were changed so speed increases by holding the running key or tapping it once; movement no longer slows simply because the key is not held continuously. Full sprint still requires periodic sprint input. Flight uses less stamina, starts more reliably, no longer briefly stalls before moving, and now permits use of equipped equipment while airborne.

Aerial abilities and combat
Aerial Stab’s stamina cost now increases with each consecutive use, addressing unintended repeat-use behavior. Its animation was improved, and a weapon restriction issue was fixed. Aerial Maneuver and Aerial Swing also require less stamina. The update further adjusts several enemy, boss, focus-skill, and weapon behaviors, and adds elemental weak-point indicators and tool-aim guidance.
Keyboard and mouse
The patch addresses skills being interrupted and adds double-click selling. Inventory selection now requires a click rather than hovering: left-click selects an item, while right-click or double-click uses it. Axiom Force gains a “Precise Control” option, activated with Q or the mouse back button while moving the mouse.

Quest, interface and visual changes
Quest fixes and guidance
Quest updates include a smoother transition into location liberation, a fix for a Prologue progression block involving Sebastian, a missing delivery target in Chapter 2, and a Chapter 3 totem-count issue. The patch also adds guide prompts.
Interface improvements
- A north-up minimap option and minimap icons for keys and anvils.
- Information about a skill’s stats at its next level.
- More detail in quest and challenge notifications, plus a notification history that can store up to 2,000 entries.
- New-quest indicators in the journal and changes to crafting, Knowledge, Duo, and controller prompts.
Graphics and platform-specific notes
Pearl Abyss reports rendering stability and visual-quality improvements in low-resolution or upscaled environments, including changes involving translucent materials with FSR-RR and DLSS-RR. On PlayStation 5, a “Fixed 4K Output” option outputs at 4K regardless of the display’s native support. The notice says it is enabled by default and can be turned off. Other listed fixes address screen noise during long sessions, displacement mapping, and texture animation; the DLSS-RR preset changes from D to E.

Loading times, stability and what the notes do not measure
The developer says loading was reduced for Abyss Trace travel and respawning after death. It also lists optimization, stability, and crash fixes across PC, console, and Mac, and a fix for frame drops during the Crowcaller battle. These are qualitative claims in the change log: it provides no before-and-after loading times, frame-rate figures, or test conditions, so the size of any improvement is not established.
The notice also lists localization and interaction fixes, including new sound effects for certain animals eating meat. Pearl Abyss links a separate Known Issues notice; version 1.01.00 should not be read as confirmation that every known issue was resolved.
