Is Crimson Desert open world?
Yes. Pearl Abyss describes it as an open-world action-adventure set on Pywel. The story follows Kliff as he seeks to reunite his scattered Greymane companions and rally forces across the continent. The premise comes from the publisher, so it establishes the setup rather than how well the story ultimately lands. Pearl Abyss COO Dong-won Lee described the aim as: “Embark on Kliff’s journey to reunite the Greymanes and fight for the continent of Pywel.”
For a buying decision, the meaningful question is not simply whether the world is open, but whether you enjoy the activity and navigation loop. PC Gamer’s account suggests a broad range of systems and exploration, while its criticism of questing indicates that freedom may come with less satisfying direction at times.
How does the combat and exploration feel?

Exploration and systems
Both reviews identified exploration as a strength. PC Gamer’s reviewer described a large activity set, but also found some systems obtuse. Expect to spend time learning how the game’s interlocking features work rather than assuming every mechanic will be self-explanatory.

TechRadar reported around 70 frames per second at native 3440×1440 on its PC test system—an RTX 4080 Super, Ryzen 7 5700X3D, and 32 GB RAM—using the maximum Cinematic preset in the situations tested. That result applies to that configuration and those test conditions; it is not a performance guarantee for other PCs or consoles.

Is Crimson Desert a single-player game?
The official material cited here frames the game around Kliff’s journey and his Greymane companions, but it does not explicitly establish a multiplayer model or provide a definitive single-player designation. The available evidence supports describing its story as centered on Kliff; it is not enough to make a categorical claim about every mode or online feature.
