Find the early Gold Bar at Lioncrest Manor
Secondary guides place a regular Gold Bar inside Lioncrest Manor near Hernand. The reported route avoids the guarded front entrance: enter through a window at the back or on the second floor, then go downstairs to the fireplace. Use the lantern or interact with the fireplace compartment when the prompt appears to take the bar. Make more Gold Bars with a Witch or blacksmith
GameSpot reports that the Gold Bar alchemy formula is found at the Spire of Insight, south of Pororin Village in Hernand, and that Witch NPCs can craft the bar. It lists two ingredient combinations and a separate blacksmith option:

Gather the crafting materials
GameSpot describes several material leads, but these are guide-reported locations and project details, not official patch documentation:
- Gold Ore: During the House Roberts quest chain, defeating the Marni Excavator at Karin Quarry reportedly yields a Gold Vein Map that reveals ten Gold Ore caves. Alternatively, GameSpot reports a Gold Vein Research project at Urdavah Palace costing 130 Silver and taking eight hours.
- Silver Ore: The guide points to the Heart of the Saint cave, north of Three Saints’ Falls and Hernand.
- Brimstone: Brimstone Springs is listed as a source.
- Mercury: The guide names Silver Wolf Mountain and Hexe Sanctuary.
Because the recipe choices require different materials, check which formula your Witch offers before collecting ingredients. The alchemy formula is also catalogued by gaming.tools, whose item database reports version 2.0.0 and an August 25, 2026 update.

Compare other ways to obtain Gold Bars
Not every route is a guaranteed pickup. GameSpot reports that Traveling Treasure Goblins may drop a chest containing a Gold Bar, and that masked players can pickpocket nobles at Demeniss Wildlife Park. These are chance-based or crime-mechanic options, unlike the reported manor find.
Keep regular Gold Bars separate from Crude Gold Bars: they are distinct treasure items, not interchangeable names for the same object. PC Gamer reports a Harpy Nest in northern Pailune, southeast of Pailune City, containing roughly 200 Crude Gold Bars. Its May 2026 guide says those crude bars sell for five Silver each generally, or 7.9 Silver each to the Vellua Fishing Shop merchant. The guide did not confirm the respawn timing. Bank or sell a regular Gold Bar?
GameSpot’s March 2026 guide reports that a bank pays 500 Silver for a regular Gold Bar, compared with 190 Silver from vendor NPCs. It also reports a 100 Silver fee to open a bank strongbox or account. If you want the bar’s reported bank value, account for that opening fee rather than treating the full 500 Silver as net proceeds. GameSpot also describes low-, medium-, and high-risk investments through the bank; at high risk, it says the investment can be lost entirely. These are reported game-economy values and mechanics, not independently confirmed current patch data.
Choose a route based on your goal
- Want one early bar? Try the reported Lioncrest Manor fireplace route.
- Have ingredients and Witch access? Check the current interface for the two reported Witch recipes before gathering more materials.
- Have a large Gold Ore supply? Compare the reported 100-Ore blacksmith option with the Witch recipes.
- Looking for repeatable loot or a sale item? Traveling Treasure Goblins and pickpocketing are reported chance-based routes; the Harpy Nest guidance is for Crude Gold Bars only.
The exact routes and values above come from secondary guides published in March and May 2026, plus a fan database updated in August 2026. No official current patch documentation for these details was identified, so in-game prompts and available recipes are the best check before committing time or materials.
