Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror game built around scarce supplies, temporal travel and monsters that can grow stronger by absorbing the fallen. The matching Outerhaven gameplay feature is framed as the first 45 minutes, while its article reports 48 minutes of PC footage focused on the opening chapter. Its 4K wording is not independently verified by the available footage details or PC specifications.
What the opening gameplay covers
The Outerhaven feature follows the opening chapter of Cronos: The New Dawn in a PC gameplay recording. The page headline calls it “First 45 Minutes,” but the article reports 48 minutes of footage; those are different duration descriptions of the same feature. The coverage foregrounds the game’s atmosphere and survival mechanics rather than presenting a performance benchmark. Read the Outerhaven gameplay feature.

How Cronos: The New Dawn’s horror works
Scavenge and ration
The official game description emphasizes scavenging to replenish limited ammunition and supplies. Players must weigh the cost of encounters against what they have available, making resource management part of the tension rather than a background system. Game Director Jacek Zięba described the gameplay as close to the Resident Evil series, citing resource management, limited ammunition and monster-filled atmospheric locations. See the official game description.
Stop the Merging
Fallen creatures are not necessarily out of the fight: surviving enemies can absorb them through a process called “Merging” and become stronger. Preventing that growth is a central survival concern, so the consequences of leaving bodies behind can shape how players handle an area.

Move between periods and extract Essences
The story spans a dystopian future and industrial Poland in the 1980s, with Nowa Huta, a district of Kraków, anchoring both periods. Players travel through temporal anomalies, or time rifts, and seek out important people who died in the apocalypse to extract their Essences. The time-travel premise therefore connects exploration and the game’s larger objective, not just its setting. Bandai Namco’s setting developer diary.
Does the PC gameplay run at 4K?
The headline uses “4K,” but the available details do not verify the recording resolution, graphics preset, frame rate or capture setup. Steam’s recommended PC GPU list is explicitly described as suitable for gameplay in 1080p, not as a 4K target. The headline alone is not evidence of measured 4K performance, and no 4K frame-rate result is established for this footage. Check the Steam store page.

- ADAPT OR DIE: In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategise and plan ahead. You can manipulate temporal anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment and you will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies.
- DON’T LET THEM MERGE: The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
- HARVESTER OF SOULS: Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
PC system requirements
Steam publishes the following Windows requirements. They are store-listed requirements, not an independent test of the gameplay recording or a guarantee of a particular resolution and frame rate.
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 x64 | Windows 10 x64 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 1080, Radeon RX 5700 XT or Intel Arc A770 | RTX 3080, Radeon RX 6800 XT or Intel Arc B580; Steam states this tier allows gameplay in 1080p |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 30 GB available space | 30 GB available space |
These published lists can help you compare a PC with the stated baseline, but they do not establish how the game performs on every system. The recommended GPU note specifically names 1080p; it should not be read as a 4K recommendation.
