It suits players curious about the series’ Nanosuit-powered combat and updated visuals, but platform performance and the older games’ feel are important caveats.
What does Crysis Remastered Trilogy include?
Crytek announced the collection on October 15, 2021, describing it as “featuring the single-player remasters of Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3.” The bundle includes those three campaigns; it does not include Crysis: Warhead or Crysis 3 multiplayer, according to MeriStation’s review.

The campaigns offer different styles of play. MeriStation describes the first Crysis as more open, while Crysis 2 is more linear and set in an urban environment. That contrast is part of the appeal if you want to see the series shift between entries, but the bundle does not add the omitted content.
What changed in the remasters?
The remasters update visual and technical presentation, including lighting, textures, characters, weapons, environments, and performance. Crytek’s product page also describes ray tracing and SVOGI. These are publisher descriptions of the remasters, not a guarantee that every platform delivers the same image quality or frame rate.

- Crysis Remastered Trilogy includes each of the single-player campaigns from legendary first-person shooters Crysis, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3
- Crysis Remastered: What begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battlefield of a new war
- Crysis 2 Remastered: Aliens are back in a world ravaged by climate disasters
- Crysis 3 Remastered: Returning to the fray as super-soldier Prophet, the search for the alien Alpha Ceph continues, but now you also have to unravel the truth behind the C.E.L.L; corporation
At launch, Crytek said the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions would run at up to 60 frames per second, at resolutions between 1080p and 4K. That is a platform-specific publisher claim, not a universal result for every console, PC configuration, or demanding scene. MeriStation’s 2021 review noted frame-rate drops during visually demanding moments on newer consoles.
How did reviewers rate it?
Cristian Ciuraneta Catalán’s MeriStation review, published November 6, 2021, scored the trilogy 7/10. The review praised the technical presentation and tactical use of the Nanosuit, while criticizing uneven pacing, dated controls, and what it considered a weaker PC showing. It also found that Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 feel more current in some respects than the first game. Those are one reviewer’s assessments, not a cross-platform consensus or a current performance test.

Does the gameplay feel modern?
The remasters refresh presentation, but Crytek’s descriptions do not indicate that it redesigned the campaigns’ gameplay. MeriStation found the controls dated, especially in the first Crysis. If you expect modernized movement, shooting, or campaign design rather than updated graphics, temper that expectation.
The Nanosuit’s tactical options remain a draw: MeriStation highlighted the way its abilities shape combat. Whether that offsets the older controls depends on your tolerance for the feel of earlier-generation shooters.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Crysis Remastered Trilogy worth it?
It is a reasonable fit if you want to play the three main single-player campaigns with refreshed visuals, or revisit them on a supported platform. It is a less certain fit if you want the smoothest possible performance on every device, a modern redesign of the controls, Warhead, or Crysis 3 multiplayer. Decide based on the specific platform you plan to use and whether the campaigns’ older feel is part of the appeal or a drawback.

- Myths and legends retold within a stylised, weird wild west universe
- Evolve with perks, upgradable weapons, and tools
- Explore and fight through a story-driven campaign to save America
- Consider it if: you want all three main campaigns together and value the visual refresh.
- Check carefully if: frame-rate consistency, platform-specific performance, or a physical edition is central to your decision.
- Look elsewhere if: you specifically want Warhead, Crysis 3 multiplayer, or substantially redesigned gameplay.
