Crystal of Atlan launched globally on May 28, 2025, on iOS, Android, PC, the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 5. Steam had a later listed release date: October 30, 2025. Its combat pitch centers on aerial action and movement along the Z-axis, rather than only the horizontal and vertical movement familiar from many 3D games.

What makes Crystal of Atlan combat different?
The game’s official PlayStation Store description foregrounds three-dimensional movement and aerial fighting. It says: “In addition to the X/Y axis focus of mainstream 3D games, Crystal of Atlan puts an emphasis on utilizing the Z-axis in combat, offering a refined aerial combat experience that innovates the traditional MMORPG combat style.” That is the publisher’s design description, not an independent comparison or a finding about combat quality.
In practical terms, the pitch is that fights can extend into the air and use depth as well as movement across the ground. The PlayStation listing also describes a range of activities built around that action:

Together, these features point to an action-RPG structure that mixes aerial combat, group encounters and competitive modes. The official descriptions establish what the game offers as a design premise; they do not establish how combat compares in balance, responsiveness or player reception to other MMORPGs.
What do the launch figures tell players?
Nuverse said on May 15, 2025, that preregistrations had passed 6 million before launch. It is a publisher-reported, prelaunch registration figure, not a measure of active players after release, retention or the game’s reception.
