That makes Clampdown accessible during a normal mid-game playthrough. Starting it before the finale also avoids forcing players to postpone the tie-in until after V’s entire story. The official unlock list does not add a level requirement, a specific build, a particular ending, or completion of every fixer job. If you have already watched the anime, Clampdown remains worthwhile as a game-side perspective on the crew. If you are spoiler-sensitive, avoid reading detailed plot summaries and play the quest before continuing beyond Episode 1.

Use this checklist in order. These are the complete conditions publicly stated by the publisher; no extra phone action, location, waiting period or unlisted mission should be assumed.

- Complete The Heist. This is the required main-story milestone. You do not need to finish the campaign afterward.
- Finish two gigs for Wakako. They must be Wakako’s gigs; the announcement does not say that any two fixer jobs can substitute.
- Wait for Wakako’s message. The message is the final trigger listed by CD PROJEKT RED. The publisher does not specify a fixed number of in-game hours, a required district, or a manual call, so do not follow guides that present those details as official requirements.
- Start Clampdown when it appears. Once the message and quest marker arrive, accept the side quest from your journal and play it whenever you choose. You can continue other activities first if you want to prepare or keep the chronology flexible.
If the quest does not appear, recheck the four conditions rather than buying additional content. In particular, verify that both Wakako gigs are complete and that the game has actually received the update. The official instructions do not identify a separate prerequisite involving Phantom Liberty, an anime episode, a fresh character, or a particular ending.
Do you need Phantom Liberty, Ultimate Edition or a new save?

Existing owners therefore need to buy nothing for the quest. New buyers should first ensure they are purchasing a version of Cyberpunk 2077 that supports Update 2.5 in their region and on their platform.
Which platforms have Update 2.5?
The publisher’s update FAQ lists PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Xbox One is not included in the supported-platform list for Update 2.5, so do not expect the quest on the older console version.

Completion also provides in-game items. Update 2.5’s notes identify a five-piece King-themed gear set earned during Clampdown. The developer-authored Xbox coverage additionally mentions Weak’s Coronation revolver. These are quest rewards inside the game, not physical merchandise and not items that must be purchased separately.
What if you already watched Edgerunners 2?
You can still play Clampdown normally. Watching the show first does not remove the quest or change its unlock conditions.
