Reports described testing of player and vehicle synchronization, a new overlay, racing and PvP activities, and stability—but this was a mod test, not an official multiplayer mode or a cooperative run through the game’s story.
What did the CyberMP beta test?
Coverage of CyberMP’s sixth closed beta described work on several systems needed to make a shared game world function:
- Player and vehicle synchronization: keeping players, movement, and vehicles aligned for other participants.
- A new overlay: an interface for the multiplayer experience.
- Racing and PvP: footage and reports showed multiplayer activities, including a race and a player-versus-player event.
- Stability: the team focused on the platform’s overall reliability.
G2A News reported on December 4, 2025, that testers experienced only “a handful” of client crashes over several days. That is a qualitative account relayed from the team, not an exact crash count or independently audited stability result. G2A News’ beta report attributes the positive assessment to the developers.
Does CyberMP let you play the story in co-op?
No cooperative campaign play was described in the beta coverage. Wccftech’s December 2, 2025 report discussed footage of racing and PvP, while noting that players could not complete story quests together. The activities shown are multiplayer features, not a shared playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077’s campaign. Wccftech’s report and footage context support that distinction.

What happened in the later 2026 test?
VGTimes reported that a semi-open test ran on July 25–26, 2026. Around 100 players were admitted through Discord applications, and the project reported a record peak of 66 concurrent players on one server. Those are figures attributed to the project in the outlet’s report, not independent measurements.
According to the same report, developers said the server remained stable at around 30–40 simultaneous connections but became less stable above that level, with network code implicated. The reported peak of 66 therefore marks a test milestone, not evidence that the system could reliably support that many players at once. VGTimes’ August 11, 2026 report also said there was no approximate release date.

Is CyberMP an official Cyberpunk 2077 mode, and can you download it?
The reports identify CyberMP as a fan-made or community multiplayer mod for Cyberpunk 2077, not a multiplayer mode released by CD Projekt. They document closed and application-based tests, but do not establish that a public download is available now.
The available coverage also does not settle which game edition, platform, or game version CyberMP supports. Check the project’s current official channels for access instructions and compatibility before attempting to install anything; a test report alone is not a compatibility guarantee.

What the beta headline does—and does not—establish
“Exceeded all expectations” is the development team’s characterization as reported by gaming outlets. The coverage does not provide an independent benchmark or defined target against which to measure that assessment. The reports establish that the team tested multiplayer synchronization and activities, and that a later test encountered stability limits as concurrency increased. They do not establish a public launch date or a finished, broadly available mod.
A public GitHub repository from Tilted Phoques describes a similarly named project, CyberpunkMP, and documents synchronization features and developer build requirements. The available reporting does not establish that this repository belongs to the CyberMP team discussed in the beta coverage, so its documentation should not be used to infer this mod’s requirements.
