The processor and memory increases are intentional. At higher presets and resolutions, the game can be limited by CPU simulation, streaming and background work as well as by the graphics processor. What are the Cyberpunk 2077 ray-tracing requirements?

Those figures describe the stated guidance and conditions, not a universal result for every RTX 3090 or every 1440p setup. Path tracing changes lighting workload substantially, so compare against the Overdrive guidance directly.
Do I need an SSD for Cyberpunk 2077?
Yes. The updated requirements place the game on an SSD across the relevant PC tiers. An SSD is a prerequisite for the published configurations, not merely an optional loading-time improvement.
