Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 arrived on July 17, 2025, adding four vehicles, new vehicle quests, self-driving travel options, expanded customization and a substantial set of Photo Mode tools. It is free for anyone who owns the base game; Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition are not required.
What Update 2.3 adds
CD PROJEKT RED published the full patch notes on July 16, 2025, describing Update 2.3 as a free update and announcing its July 17 release. The original notes cover PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The developer’s current platform FAQ also lists Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac. Read the official patch notes and release announcement.

The update’s headline additions are four vehicles and new ways to travel around Night City, but it also expands Photo Mode and adds gameplay, graphics and display options. Existing players can continue their current save.
Four new vehicles and how to unlock them
The new rides have different acquisition routes: some are quest rewards or quest-linked purchases, while another can be bought directly through AUTOFIXER.

AutoDrive and Delamain cabs automate different kinds of travel
AutoDrive
AutoDrive works with any vehicle you own. Choose a job objective or map pin and let the vehicle travel there, or start a leisurely ride when you have no destination selected. On a road, activate it by holding G on PC or Left Stick on consoles. A cinematic camera can be enabled while the system is driving. AutoDrive is unavailable during combat and when your vehicle is heavily damaged.

Delamain self-driving cabs
To call a Delamain cab, open the vehicle menu and choose a destination. The option unlocks after you complete Don’t Lose Your Mind—regardless of the outcome—and receive a message from Delamain. Unlike AutoDrive, the cab is a separate transport service rather than a feature for one of your owned vehicles.

Vehicle paint customization reaches more models
Rayfield CrystalCoat, previously associated with Rayfield vehicles, becomes available on vehicles from partner brands, including motorcycles. A cracked version of the paint technology extends customization to many lower-end vehicles. It is not universal: some vehicles remain unsupported, including heavily modified nomad vehicles and job-related vehicles. See the patch notes for the full update details.

Photo Mode gets more subjects and controls
Update 2.3 adds 27 spawnable NPCs and lets players use alternative NPC outfits and V’s saved Wardrobe outfits. Its other Photo Mode additions include:
- More control over the Look-At Camera.
- Lighting changes, stickers and frames.
- Improved depth of field and a Color Balance tab.
- Weather and time-of-day controls.
- Frame advance.
- The option for in-game time to progress while Photo Mode is open.
Other gameplay, graphics and display changes
- Accessibility and tutorials: An ADS toggle was added, along with an option to replay the tutorial.
- Johnny’s passenger seat: You can dismiss Johnny from the passenger seat for a few in-game days.
- PC graphics: The update adds FSR 4 support on compatible AMD GPUs, with a supporting-driver caveat in the patch notes, as well as FSR 3.1 Frame Generation and Intel XeSS 2.0.
- HDR: HDR10+ Gaming is supported on compatible displays.
- Console displays: Variable refresh rate (VRR) support is added on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Graphics features depend on compatible hardware, displays and drivers; their inclusion in the patch does not mean every option is available on every platform. The official patch notes specify the relevant compatibility caveats.

Platforms, ownership and save requirements
CD PROJEKT RED’s current Update 2.3 FAQ lists Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac. The release announcement also noted the Mac launch. The platform list in the original July 16 patch-note announcement was narrower—PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S—so the FAQ is the appropriate reference for the platforms it currently lists.

Update 2.3 is free for owners of the Cyberpunk 2077 base game. You do not need Phantom Liberty or Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, and you do not need to start a new save. If you do not own Cyberpunk 2077, you must purchase the game to access the update. The official FAQ answers these ownership and progress questions.
