Where to get Dark Odyssey and what “free” means
Dark Odyssey is listed as free to play on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Steam identifies Game Hollywood Games as both developer and publisher and lists September 25, 2023, as the release date. Steam also lists in-app purchases. Check the store page for the current purchase and download details before installing.
What kind of game is it?
Steam describes Dark Odyssey as an online RPG built around idle progression: character levels and combat power can increase while the player is offline. Its store description also advertises dungeons, boss fights, equipment and skill upgrades, cosmetic customization, PvP, and cooperative multiplayer. Epic likewise promotes idle play, dungeons, bosses, character enhancement, and customization. These are store-described features, not independently verified observations of how the game plays.
Idle progression and active play
The advertised loop pairs offline advancement with activities such as dungeons and boss encounters. The listings do not establish how quickly characters progress, how much active play is required, or whether offline gains keep pace with other players.

Steam advertises both cooperative multiplayer and PvP, alongside dungeons and boss fights. The available listings do not explain matchmaking, group size, mode availability, or the balance between solo and multiplayer progression.

There is an important distinction between the game’s posted operating-system requirement and Steam’s client support: the Steam listing warns that the Steam client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024. That client requirement may determine whether you can launch the game through Steam, even though the game’s listed minimum includes older Windows versions. Language support and save-data warning
Steam lists English and German interface support. To select German, the listing directs players to the game’s Steam properties. It also warns that English and German versions do not share data. If you switch languages, check the Steam listing’s instructions and consider the save-data consequence before changing the setting.

What the available review signal can—and cannot—tell you
