Darkdrift Knight is Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, the Nightlord fought at the end of the Darkdrift Knight Expedition in Elden Ring Nightreign. The similar name also belongs to a sword in Dark Souls III; that weapon is unrelated to Fulghor.
Who is the Darkdrift Knight?
Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, is the Darkdrift Knight and the final boss of the Darkdrift Knight Expedition. He is an ancient centaur who fights with a sacred form of the Night’s power.

The Darkdrift Knight Expedition description, reproduced by the community-maintained Elden Ring Wiki, describes him as “An ancient centaur consumed with battle. His fervor for the gods he serves yet burns within, wielding a sacred form of the Night’s power. According the legend, the mightily radiant gods were able to conceal themselves in the roar of thunder.” The text says his gods concealed themselves in thunder. The same wiki reports that his companions betrayed those gods after Fulghor’s arm was severed, and that Fulghor later embraced the Night.
How does the regular Fulghor fight work?
Fulghor is fast and hits hard. The encounter changes when he grows a new left arm, marking his phase transition. The community wiki characterizes his damage as standard and holy, says he resists holy damage, and identifies lightning as a particular vulnerability; exact resistance figures and behavior may be affected by game updates.

Interrupt the power-up with lightning
During his power-up, lightning damage can call down a bolt that staggers Fulghor and interrupts the spell that would create golden spears beneath players. This makes lightning useful both for damage and for preventing a dangerous attack, though timing the opening matters.
Use openings rather than trading hits
Fulghor’s speed and heavy attacks make sustained close-range exchanges risky. The guide published by GameSpot on June 27, 2025, recommends lightning-based attacks and heavy attacks when he is charging or aiming, when an opening can create a stagger opportunity. It also describes tracking arrows, a twinblade sequence, and explosive attacks; respond to these with movement or precise evasion rather than assuming a stationary defense will hold.
What changes in the Everdark Sovereign fight?
In its June 27, 2025 guide, GameSpot’s Everdark Sovereign Fulghor guide reports that the Sovereign version starts in a later phase. Its advice is to use lightning attacks and heavy attacks during charging or aiming openings to build stagger opportunities. These are strategies for the version covered at publication time, not guarantees that every detail remains unchanged after updates.

Is Darkdrift the same as the Darkdrift Knight?
No. The names refer to different things in different games:

The Dark Souls III Wiki’s equipment lore and Gamer Guides’ Yuria of Londor reference concern the sword, not the Nightreign boss. Gamer Guides notes that Yuria appears after five uses of Yoel’s “Draw Out True Strength” and lists Darkdrift among her drops.
