What should I check first after the release date?
Start with the account and store transaction, not with a full game reinstall. A missing DLC entry usually belongs to one of four layers: the chapter has not released, the signed-in account does not own the entitlement, the add-on is not installed, or the local game files are damaged.
Use this order because each step tests a different failure layer. A file check cannot grant ownership, while restoring a console license cannot repair a damaged PC installation. Confirm the layer before spending time or bandwidth on a more destructive fix.

Sign in to the platform account that bought the chapter. A copy of the base game borrowed through Family Sharing does not necessarily provide permanent DLC access. Behaviour lists several entitlement changes that can make previously available DLC disappear:
- The Family Sharing holder was banned or the sharing arrangement changed.
- You bought the base game after previously accessing it through another account.
- You moved the account to a different country or region.
- You changed between PS4 and PS5 versions with different entitlements.
- The store purchase was made on a different account from the one currently running the game.
Check the platform’s purchase history or owned add-ons while signed in to that account. If the store does not show the Terrifier purchase after its release date, the issue is an account or transaction question rather than a damaged game file. Check whether the base game is still owned on that account

How do I verify Dead by Daylight files on PC?
Verify the installation after the chapter is live and the correct account owns it. Behaviour describes file verification as an occasional remedy for in-game problems, and it is less destructive than deleting and reinstalling the whole game. It checks the installed data against the launcher’s expected files and can replace incomplete or damaged files without removing your account entitlement.
Steam
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click Dead by Daylight and choose Properties.

How do I restore the DLC license on PlayStation?
PlayStation uses separate add-on and license screens for PS4 and PS5. Download the owned add-on first; restore licenses when the store shows ownership but the game does not recognize it.
PS4
- Open Library and select Purchased.
- Choose Dead by Daylight.
- Open PlayStation Store, then Add-ons, then My Add-ons.
