Dead by Daylight’s Terrifier chapter is scheduled for November 24, 2026; it has not launched in the live game yet. Art the Clown (listed in-game as The Terrifier), Survivor Sienna Shaw and the Hartshorne Mall map are already in the limited 10.3.0 Steam Public Test Build (PTB), but that test is not a console-wide release and its progress does not become permanent ownership. The live chapter’s exact character prices, bundle contents and Hartshorne Mall rotation details have not been published. This FAQ separates what is confirmed from what remains provisional, so you know which platforms can play together, what a Chapter purchase unlocks, and what to expect from the mall map.
Is the Dead by Daylight Terrifier chapter out yet?
No. Behaviour Interactive lists November 24, 2026 as the full chapter’s release date on its official Terrifier chapter page. A limited Steam PTB began at midnight Japan time on October 29, which was October 28 at 15:00 UTC. Seeing Art, Sienna or Hartshorne Mall in that branch does not mean the downloadable content has launched on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or the live PC game.

Which platforms will support the Terrifier chapter and cross-play?
For the live game, Behaviour’s cross-play list covers Steam, the Windows/Microsoft Store version, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and Nintendo Switch. That is the correct baseline for cross-platform matchmaking; the fact that the PTB is Steam-only does not make Terrifier a Steam-exclusive chapter.

Behaviour’s separate cross-progression documentation mentions Nintendo Switch 2, but that is a different feature from cross-play. The cross-play support page does not expressly establish Nintendo Switch 2 support, nor does the cross-progression list by itself confirm a Terrifier release or cross-play implementation on that hardware. Wait for a platform-specific listing or launch notes before assuming Switch 2 compatibility.
Storefront pages and regional availability can appear at different times. Until the chapter listings go live, do not infer a price, edition or bonus from an older Dead by Daylight chapter.

Can I play with friends on another platform?
Yes, provided everyone is on a supported platform, has the same game version and has cross-play enabled. Dead by Daylight uses a Behaviour account-independent in-game Dead by Daylight ID for friend discovery, so a Steam player can invite a console player without being on the same storefront.
- Open the Friends panel from the main menu.
- Choose Add Friend.
- Search for your friend’s Dead by Daylight ID and send the request.
- After they accept, select the friend and invite them to your party.
Behaviour says that mismatched update versions temporarily prevent cross-platform matching. If one player has a newly released patch and another has not restarted to install it, update both clients before troubleshooting anything else. Cross-play can be disabled from the main menu, but doing so limits matchmaking to players on the same platform and can increase queue times.

- In your Steam library, right-click Dead by Daylight and choose Properties.
- Open the Betas tab.
- Select Public Test Build from the beta participation menu.
- Let Steam download the test build, then launch it from your library.
If the Public Test Build option is absent, Behaviour says a PTB may not currently be live. Availability is time-limited and controlled by the publisher. The Terrifier test is not a permanent way to own the chapter, and progress, unlocks and currency earned there do not carry over to the live game. Return to the normal branch after the test to play the current release version.

The Killer is Art the Clown, identified in Dead by Daylight as The Terrifier. The new Survivor is Sienna Shaw. Behaviour’s pre-release description and 10.3.0 PTB notes identify both characters, but their final launch tuning remains subject to change.
Art’s PTB power is called Bag of Toys. Behaviour describes a randomized selection of toys, including a flail, flamethrower, firearm, acid bottle and bike horn. The randomization is part of the PTB design, not a promise that every item, cooldown or effect will remain identical in the release build.
Art’s named PTB perks are Funny Business, Kill Spree and Laughingstock. Sienna’s named PTB perks are Best Gift Ever, Shared Trauma and Valkyrie’s Rage. Read the current descriptions in the PTB for the exact triggers and numbers; Behaviour can rebalance them before the chapter reaches live servers.
What does buying the Terrifier Chapter unlock?
Behaviour’s general Chapters policy says buying a Chapter unlocks its associated characters and exclusive items, while “Maps remain free for all players.” In practical terms, a Terrifier purchase is for Art, Sienna and the chapter’s character-linked content; it is not a requirement for entering Hartshorne Mall once that map is available in the live game.

Behaviour has not yet published Terrifier-specific Auric Cell prices, Iridescent Shard eligibility, bundle names, discounts or bonus cosmetics in the reviewed material. Do not borrow a price or alternative-currency rule from an older chapter, and do not assume that either character will be free. Check the official chapter page and in-game store listing after the November 24 release.
Is Hartshorne Mall a Terrifier film location or a paid map?
No established source describes Hartshorne Mall as a recreated film location or a separately sold map. Behaviour’s PTB material calls it an original map in The Subdivisions realm and connects its lore to Dwight Fairfield. It appears as part of the 10.3.0 update rather than as a map entitlement that must be purchased with the Terrifier characters.
The Japanese publisher announcement also describes the original mall as part of this update. That confirms its presence in the test context, but it does not by itself set a separate live-map release date or guarantee that every platform will see it at the same moment.
When does Hartshorne Mall enter map rotation?
There is no published fixed timetable, spawn percentage or guaranteed next-match method for Hartshorne Mall in the reviewed official sources. The grounded answer is that the map is in the 10.3.0 PTB, maps are not gated behind buying Terrifier, and its live rotation details remain unconfirmed.

How are cross-play, cross-progression and DLC ownership different?
Cross-play lets players on supported platforms enter the same matchmaking pool. Cross-progression synchronizes eligible progression through a linked Behaviour Account. Neither feature should be read as an automatic transfer of every purchase between storefronts.
Behaviour’s cross-progression FAQ specifically warns that Auric Cells purchased on Nintendo Switch do not transfer to other platforms. It also says Nintendo eShop DLC cannot be shared from Switch to other platforms, while DLC purchased on other supported platforms can be shared to Switch under the stated account rules. Joining a cross-play lobby therefore does not give a friend access to your Chapter purchase, and owning the chapter on one account does not make Art or Sienna playable on another person’s account.
Before buying, link the platforms you actually use to the same Behaviour Account and read the current support terms. Account linking and storefront entitlements can have exceptions, especially for platform-specific currency.
What should I check if the chapter or map is missing?
- Confirm the date: the scheduled live release is November 24, 2026; before then, only the limited Steam PTB is expected to show the new content.
- Check the branch: Steam’s Betas menu should show Public Test Build only while Behaviour has that test open.
- Match versions: restart and update every client in the party. Different versions block cross-platform matching.
- Verify platform scope: console players should not expect access to the Steam PTB.
- Check account ownership: cross-play does not transfer DLC, and PTB progress does not become live-game ownership.
- Read live notes: use the official chapter page, patch notes and support articles for final prices, perk tuning, platform listings and map rotation information.
What should I recheck on launch day?
On November 24, verify the live patch version before inviting friends, then look for the Terrifier Chapter listing in your platform’s store and in Dead by Daylight’s in-game purchase screen. Compare the final character descriptions with the PTB versions, because names and effects can be adjusted. If Hartshorne Mall does not appear immediately, that does not prove a purchase problem: Behaviour may publish separate map-rotation or rollout information.
Also keep the distinctions clear: the chapter release is different from the PTB, cross-play is different from cross-progression, and a free map is different from free characters. Those three distinctions answer most launch-day confusion.

Are there physical Terrifier collectibles separate from the game DLC?
Yes. Trick or Treat Studios documents an officially licensed, posable 1:6-scale Art the Clown figure (SKU MAARDA100) and a latex Art mask (SKU MARLDA100). It also lists a five-inch Terrifier 2 Angel Warrior Sienna Shaw figure (SKU MATTDA109), whose manufacturer page marks it unavailable at the time of the available data. These are physical film-character products, not digital Dead by Daylight content and not a way to unlock Art, Sienna or Hartshorne Mall. Check the manufacturer or retailer for current stock; no current marketplace listing or price is guaranteed here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can console players join the Terrifier PTB?
No. Behaviour’s PTB FAQ says the test is currently available only on Steam, so PlayStation, Xbox and Switch players must wait for the live release. A Steam PTB invitation does not grant a console entitlement.

Only account and platform rules that support the entitlement can do that; cross-play alone never transfers DLC. In particular, Behaviour warns that Nintendo Switch Auric Cells do not transfer and that Switch eShop DLC cannot be shared outward, so check the cross-progression FAQ before changing platforms.
Are the PTB perk effects guaranteed for launch?
No. The listed perks and Bag of Toys items describe the 10.3.0 test build. Behaviour can change names, triggers, numbers or item pools before November 24, so use the live patch notes as the final authority.
Why can’t I force Hartshorne Mall with a Map offering?
The official material does not establish a guaranteed mall-selection method or a fixed spawn rate. Sienna’s perk interactions are not evidence of a map item, and the map’s live rotation policy must be confirmed in later patch notes.
