Is Dead Island 3 confirmed?
Dambuster Studios confirmed on September 9, 2025, that its team was working on “the next chapter in the Dead Island saga,” while saying details were “tightly under wraps.” The statement did not name the project Dead Island 3. Dambuster’s announcement said fans could be sure “the outbreak is far from over.”

The franchise’s official account followed with a teaser calling it “the next outbreak” and saying Dambuster was “already drenched in the work.” Those lines signaled a continuation, but did not disclose a title or game details. The September 9, 2025 post also marked a player milestone: 20 million “Slayers” in Dead Island 2. That is a player figure, not a sales total.
In December 2025, Pure Xbox reported that Dambuster’s filed accounts described Dead Island 3 as in early production. That report quotes a predicted Q1/Q2 2028 release window. This is a reported development target, not a public confirmation of a launch date.

What does “When there’s no more room in Hell-A” mean?
The teaser image’s wording—“When there’s no more room in Hell-A…” —hints that the next game may move beyond Dead Island 2’s Los Angeles setting. It does not name a new city, island, country, or region. The ellipsis makes the line suggestive, not a location announcement.
The teaser pairs that phrase with “The journey is far from over,” but gives no confirmed information about characters, story, or where the outbreak goes next. Destinations discussed by fans remain speculation.

When could Dead Island 3 come out?
The only specific window established in the available reporting is Q1/Q2 2028, quoted by Pure Xbox from Dambuster’s filed statements as the project’s “current predicted release window.” A prediction in company accounts is not a firm release date, and no exact day or month has been announced. Pure Xbox’s December 2025 report attributes the timing to those accounts.
The Companies House register confirms that Dambuster Studios Ltd. filed full accounts made up to March 31, 2025, on December 15, 2025. The register cautions that it does not check the accuracy of filed material, so the development description and predicted window should be treated as reported information rather than a guaranteed schedule. The filing history verifies the filing and reporting period.

As of the December 2025 reporting, there was no confirmed setting or release date, and no established platform list, preorder, or edition information for Dead Island 3. The confirmed picture is limited to Dambuster working on another chapter and later reporting that the project is in early production.
