Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: exploration and Switch 2 options
Nintendo describes Samus Aran exploring the mysterious planet Viewros, fighting enemies and bosses, and navigating labyrinthine environments. The Lamorn grant her new psychic abilities, and the game introduces the Vi-O-La vehicle. Nintendo lists the game for both Switch and Switch 2; the Switch 2 Edition itself is playable only on Switch 2. Owners of the Switch version can purchase an upgrade pack. Nintendo UK’s game page.
Resolution and frame rate depend on mode
For the Switch 2 Edition in TV mode, Nintendo lists up to 4K at 60 fps in Quality Mode or 1080p at 120 fps in Performance Mode. Those maximums are alternatives, not a combined 4K/120 fps setting. A compatible 120 Hz display is required for 120 fps in TV mode. Nintendo also lists HDR and Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Nintendo UK.

Launch timing, including Steam
Square Enix lists December 4, 2025 as the release date, but specifies that the Steam version begins December 5 at 02:00. Keep that platform-specific timing in mind if you are planning to play on Steam; the date is not simply December 4 for every platform. Square Enix.
Character creation and large-scale command battles
Nintendo’s product description says players create a character, restore and build a hometown, and choose from more than 30 allies. Battles use the series’ Break and Boost system and can include parties of up to eight characters. Nintendo also says its demo offers the first three hours, with progress transferable to the full game. Nintendo UK.
