Death’s Poker is a greatsword dropped by the Death Rite Bird in Caelid. The bird appears at night, near the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace. The weapon requires 15 Strength, 17 Dexterity, and 11 Intelligence, and its signature skill, Ghostflame Ignition, can spread ghostflame along the ground or trigger a larger blast.
Where to find Death’s Poker
Defeat the Death Rite Bird in Caelid at night to obtain Death’s Poker. Eldenpedia places the encounter southeast of the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace; a separate guide also confirms the Caelid bird and nighttime condition, though its landmark directions differ. See Eldenpedia’s Death’s Poker entry and Game8’s guide for their respective location details.

How Ghostflame Ignition works
Ghostflame Ignition is Death’s Poker’s weapon skill. The listed FP cost is 15 (10, 10), as reported by Eldenpedia. The skill begins by thrusting the weapon and lighting its tip; follow-up attacks differ:
- Normal attack: spreads ghostflame along the ground.
- Strong attack: triggers a larger explosion.
The available references do not establish current-patch skill damage or detailed skill scaling. Check the in-game weapon information and your own damage output before making a patch-specific build decision.

Upgrade and customization
Death’s Poker upgrades with Somber Smithing Stones. Eldenpedia says its affinity cannot be changed using Ashes of War or Whetblades; the weapon’s listed skill is Ghostflame Ignition. The reference does not establish patch-specific changes to these properties.
Is Death’s Poker an Intelligence weapon?
It requires 11 Intelligence, but Eldenpedia lists its normal attribute scaling as D Strength, D Dexterity, and E Intelligence. So the Intelligence requirement alone is not evidence that its normal attacks scale strongly with Intelligence. The references do not verify current-patch damage or skill scaling, so they are not enough to declare it a best choice for a particular build.
