Delta Force is worth considering if you want large-scale PvP, an extraction shooter, or a co-op military campaign—but those are three distinct experiences, not one unified campaign-and-multiplayer package. The free-to-play game offers Warfare, Operations, and Black Hawk Down. Which one suits you matters more than the lack of an upfront price. This review describes the live-service game as of October 4, 2026; modes, maps, balance, and other content can change.
What is Delta Force?
The current Delta Force is a free-to-play live-service shooter. Its three main experiences cater to different preferences: team-based objective warfare, extraction-focused squad play, and a story-led co-op campaign. The official site lists the game and its modes at Delta Force; official update notices checked on October 4, 2026 included an October 1 update and a September Season 11 notice.

Is Warfare a good fit?
Warfare is the clearest choice if you want a large PvP battlefield, objectives, and vehicles. PlayStation’s published 32v32 figure conveys the mode’s advertised scale, but it should not be read as a rating of match quality or as the player count for all Delta Force modes. The official PlayStation page also presents Warfare alongside Operations and the free campaign DLC, reinforcing that the game is a collection of different formats rather than a single multiplayer playlist.
Is Operations a good fit?
Operations follows the extraction-shooter loop: work with a small squad, pursue resources, and get out. Its three-player squad structure makes coordination central, and the extraction objective gives a match a different rhythm from Warfare’s team-versus-team battles. Choose it if you specifically want that risk-and-extraction format, rather than assuming that liking one Delta Force mode means the others will suit you.

Can you play Black Hawk Down solo?
Yes. Delta Force’s official campaign FAQ says the content is free for everyone, consistent with the developer’s statement that playable content would be free. The same FAQ cautions that solo play is extremely challenging and recommends a full four-player squad. It is therefore possible to attempt alone, but the official guidance does not present solo as the intended easy route. The campaign is also listed on Steam as an add-on that requires the base game.
Black Hawk Down is a seven-chapter co-op story set around the Mogadishu operation. Garena describes it as a reboot of the 2001 film and a tribute to the 2003 game. PC Gamer’s February 19, 2025 preview characterized it as tightly scripted and linear, with lethal combat and a slower, more serious pace than the multiplayer. That is a critic’s assessment near release, not a finding about the October 2026 build.

What should you know about platforms?
PlayStation’s US page lists the PS5 release date as August 19, 2025. Xbox Wire’s July 2025 preview announced an Xbox Series X|S technical test and described cross-play between console and PC, plus shared progression across console, PC, and mobile at that time. That announcement is historical rather than confirmation of October 2026 policy. Check the current platform listing and account details for regional availability, cross-play, and progression before choosing where to play.
