As of Bungie’s June 2026 update, the shader is listed at Tenet of Sacrifice in the Tower’s Monument of Triumph vendor area. If you have not unlocked that vendor, make your first Monument vendor purchase at Tenet of Bravery, then check Tenet of Sacrifice for the shader and its current requirements.
How to get Superblack now
- Go to the Tower courtyard and enter the Monument of Triumph vendor area.
- If the Tenet vendors are not available, make your first Monument vendor purchase at Tenet of Bravery. Bungie says this unlocks the other Tenet vendors.
- Inspect Tenet of Sacrifice and locate the Superblack Shader listing.
- Check the live listing for its Legendary Marks cost and any requirements, then complete the purchase if eligible.
Bungie’s June 4, 2026 This Week in Destiny places Superblack under Tenet of Sacrifice and says the Monument update is available to all players. Monument vendors use Legendary Marks earned by completing Triumphs, according to Bungie’s vendor announcement.

Bungie’s announcement does not specify Superblack’s exact Legendary Marks price or a shader-specific Triumph requirement. The live vendor listing is the place to confirm both; do not rely on an old price or key quest guide.

What happened to Superblack Key Alpha and Omega?
The keys were part of the limited-time Into the Light route in 2024, not the current acquisition method. In that version, players earned Key Alpha from Shaxx and Key Omega from Arcite 90-40 in the Hall of Champions, then used both to open Superblack Containment and gain access to the shader. Bungie described the original unlock in its May 2, 2024 announcement: “Players can unlock the shader by earning the Superblack Key Alpha from Shaxx, and Superblack Key Omega from Arcite 90-40.”
#1 Best Overall
- From the makers of the acclaimed hit game Destiny, comes the much-anticipated sequel
- An action shooter that takes you on an epic journey across the solar system
- Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force, led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion
- To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home
The Hall of Champions and its associated Arcite quests were scheduled to leave after June 3, 2024. Bungie later said Superblack would return, but the old deterministic key route was tied to the period before The Final Shape. The current Monument placement replaces the need to pursue those retired keys.
