Yes. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s World of Light finale, Galeem and Dharkon attack one another as well as the fighters. Their clash is a three-way battle, and defeating both bosses on the central route leads to the true ending.
How the final confrontation works
World of Light is the game’s single-player Adventure Mode, in which the player battles to save fighters and spirits. Nintendo’s official game site introduces Adventure Mode and Galeem; the details of the finale are documented by the community-maintained SmashWiki World of Light guide.

Near the end of the mode, the route through the center brings Galeem and Dharkon together. They are competing for control, but neither ignores the player: both bosses attack the fighters while also striking each other. Attacks from one boss can reduce the other’s health.
Can one boss defeat the other?
No. Although Galeem and Dharkon can damage each other, neither can lower the other’s health to zero. The player must defeat both. The central final route leads to the encounter with both bosses, and defeating them there produces the true ending.
#1 Best Overall
- New stages and fighters are joined by the combined rosters of every past Super Smash Bros. Game
- Challenge others anytime, anywhere, whether you're on the couch or on the go
- Play any way you want—locally, online, in TV mode, Tabletop mode, Handheld mode, or even with GameCube Controllers
- Fight faster and smarter with new and returning techniques, like the perfect shield and directional air dodge
- Face off in 2-4 player battles, or play against the computer
How this differs from the earlier paths
Earlier routes let the player fight one boss alone and can lead to a bad ending. The central route instead reunites Galeem and Dharkon for the final battle. SmashWiki’s World of Light guide describes the routes and their ending outcomes.
