Is Kell’s Vengeance available in Destiny 2?
Bungie’s Year 8 Destiny Content Vault list includes Kell’s Vengeance among activities moved into the vault. Bungie says, “Activities may be re-added into the Portal during later releases,” but that general caveat is not a promise that Kell’s Vengeance will return or an indication of when it might happen.

How did players unlock Kell’s Vengeance?
When the activity was available, a historical guide reported that completing the Episode: Revenant Act 3 story unlocked it. The guide also reported a minimum fireteam size of two, so it was not an activity players could launch solo. These are historical access requirements, not a way to gain access while the activity is vaulted.
How did the Kell’s Vengeance encounters work?
Opening Warden’s Gaze objective
A third-party walkthrough describes a timed Warden’s Gaze bonus objective at the start. It warns that missing the time limit causes a wipe. On a return, prioritize the marked objective and coordinate roles before triggering the encounter rather than treating the opening as routine enemy clearing.

Skolas and Devouring Essence
In the Skolas fight, the walkthrough says one player receives Devouring Essence with a 30-second timer. That player must pass the debuff to another teammate before the timer expires or die. Bungie’s March 25, 2025 patch notes independently confirm that Devouring Essence was part of the fight, documenting a fix for the debuff duplicating. The handoff instructions and 30-second timing come from the third-party walkthrough, not Bungie’s patch notes.
Creating a damage phase
The walkthrough’s reported damage loop is to defeat the Revenant Baron, collect the dropped mote to gain Enhanced Essence, then deposit it into the indicated Servitor among those in the arena. It identifies the correct Servitor by its brighter red glow; depositing the mote is said to trigger a damage phase. The official source reviewed does not describe this mechanic in detail, so treat these steps as source-attributed guidance rather than a currently verified activity update.

What was the Kell’s Vengeance reward?
A historical third-party guide describes the Renunciation Exotic Ship as a guaranteed first-clear reward. That claim concerns the activity as it was available then: it does not mean players can currently earn the ship while Kell’s Vengeance is vaulted, nor establish that the reward would remain the same if the activity returned.
