Bungie announced on April 17, 2025, that it would reveal Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate and the coming year of the game on May 6. The event was scheduled for 9 a.m. PT. That date has passed: Bungie published its reveal recap on May 6, and the expansion later launched on July 15, 2025.
When was the Edge of Fate reveal?
Bungie’s April 17, 2025 announcement invited players to the reveal on May 6. On April 24, Bungie specified the start time: 9 a.m. PT. The original headline’s “next month” referred to May 2025, not an upcoming event. Bungie’s announcement and event-time notice document the schedule.

The Edge of Fate and the Fate Saga
Bungie’s May 6 recap said the Year of Prophecy would begin with The Edge of Fate on July 15, 2025. The expansion introduced Kepler as a new destination and marked the beginning of the Fate Saga, a long story arc focused on the Nine. Bungie later confirmed that the expansion launched. What is the current context?
In a May 21, 2026 statement, Bungie said the June 9, 2026 update would be Destiny 2’s final live-service content update and that the game would remain playable. That statement does not establish whether The Edge of Fate or any edition is currently available to buy. Bungie’s 2026 statement provides that update.

Was the Collector’s Edition available?
At the time of the May 2025 reveal, Bungie said the physical Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy Collector’s Edition was available to preorder through the Bungie Store.
