It supports Normal and Legend difficulty for up to three players, and its seven hidden Oracles complete the Oracular Seeker triumph and award the Karve of the Worm Exotic ship. You no longer need to visit Io, trigger a public event, or find the original Taken portal.
This guide follows the mission from the opening combat section through every Oracle. The mission is timed, so learn the route first if you are attempting the collectibles on Legend.

How to launch The Whisper
The reprised mission is accessed through the Into the Light activity area in the Director rather than through Io. Available sources describe the node as either Director → Into the Light → The Whisper or as an Exotic Mission entry within the Into the Light category. The exact menu presentation can change, so look for the Into the Light mission node and select The Whisper, then choose Normal or Legend.

You do not need to equip Whisper of the Worm to destroy the Oracles; any weapon can damage them. The original Io launch route and hidden portal are obsolete for this version of the activity. #1 Best Overall
Before you start the Oracle run
- Expect a timer. Every detour costs traversal time, particularly on Legend.
- Bring a reliable long-range weapon. Oracle 3 and Oracle 7 are much easier when you can shoot from a distance.
- Use movement tools if available. Grapple, Eager Edge, or strong Warlock movement can simplify the harder jumps.
- Run the mission once if the Oracles do not appear. Some players have reported that the collectibles did not spawn on a first clear.
- Watch for bright objects in dark rooms. Their surroundings can be difficult to see, but active Oracles are conspicuously bright.
The collectibles were released in stages during Into the Light, but the completed version contains seven. Older guides that list only two or four are describing the original rollout, not the finished activity.
The Whisper mission route
The opening section contains Taken combat. After destroying the first Taken Blight, drop through the hole and continue into the traversal route. The mission uses narrow ledges, wall-mounted platforms, moving pistons, vents, slanted surfaces, and a large green overgrown chamber. Your first major traversal objective is reported as “Traverse Deeper into the Anomaly.”
The Oracle locations below are listed in route order. Collecting all seven in one run is possible, but stopping at every side room makes the timer significantly less forgiving.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Oracle 1: the first red-light cavern
Location: The first major jumping room, in a left-side alcove.
- Destroy the first Taken Blight and descend through the hole.
- Continue until the objective changes to “Traverse Deeper into the Anomaly.”
- Enter the large dark room with the red light.
- Before jumping toward the red light, turn left.
- Jump over the wreckage and stay against the left wall.
- Follow the ledge around the corner. The Oracle is at the end of the alcove near a fallen enemy.
This is the easiest Oracle to miss if you immediately follow the red-lit route. Destroying it is reported to grant White Nail II intrinsic progress.
Oracle 2: the hidden room above the elevator ledge
Location: A small room above the ledge after the moving-platform corridor.

- Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
- Work through the corridor with moving platforms and take the elevator upward.
- Do not immediately follow the blue-lit route that continues the mission.
- Remain on the ledge and move forward.
- At the gap between the ledges, look upward for a narrow opening.
- Jump into the opening and enter the hidden room.
- The Oracle is inside, to the right, near fallen enemies.
This Oracle is associated with the Karve of the Worm Schematic reward in the reported progression.
Oracle 3: the Vex node and temporary platform
Location: Near the wall opening after the elevator and Vandal snipers.
- Continue past the elevator section until you reach the area with Vandal snipers.
- At the wall opening, jump onto the ledge, but do not pass through the opening.
- Turn around and look for the Vex node.
- Shoot the node to make a temporary platform appear.
- Jump onto the spawned platform to reach the Oracle.
The important detail is the node: the Oracle is not reached by simply proceeding through the wall opening. Activate the node first, then use the temporary platform.
Oracle 4: the secret room in the green chamber
Location: A concealed lower room near the entrance of the large green chamber.
- Enter the large green room with the central stone orb.
- Use the grassy ledges on the left side.
- Follow the ledges around the outside of the room until you are above the entrance.
- Look down for a crack near the entrance.
- Drop onto the hidden ledge and enter the small room.
- The Oracle is inside.
This is one of the most commonly missed collectibles because the obvious route appears to lead directly toward the exit. Do not leave the green room before checking the lower side room.

A player-reported shortcut claims that Oracle 4 can sometimes be damaged from the wall-jumping route before the full green-room traversal is complete. From approximately halfway along the opposite wall, aim at the small white box across the room; rockets, and possibly sniper or scout fire, may reach it. Treat this as an unofficial edge case rather than a dependable route. Bungie forum report on the Oracle 4 shortcut.

Oracle 5: the Taken-thrall passage below the green room
Location: A side room off the dark passage beneath the green chamber.
- From the green room, drop through the crack in the floor.
- Run through the dark room containing Taken Thralls and Vex bodies.
- At the far end, find the small passage on the right.
- Enter the low passage and turn into the side room.
- The Oracle is inside.
The reported reward for this Oracle is White Nail IV intrinsic progress.
Oracle 6: the hidden space below the circular ledge
Location: Beneath the narrow circular ledge around the Vex structure after the green room.
- Leave the green room and follow the very narrow circular ledge around the Vex structure.
- At the point where the normal route requires a long drop to a small platform, stop.
- Look down and to the left instead of taking the standard jump.
- Drop into the hidden space.
- The Oracle is inside.
This Oracle is reported to award another Karve of the Worm Schematic.
Oracle 7: above and behind the Vex gate
Location: Behind the Vex gate, reached from platforms on the right wall.
- From the circular ledge, backtrack toward the entrance to the large green room.
- Face the distant Vex portal or gate.
- Use the platforms built into the cavern wall on the right.
- Climb until you are above the gate structure.
- Look behind the gate for the final Oracle.
- Destroy it from above with a long-range weapon, or drop down and destroy it directly.
The first jump to the right-wall platforms can be awkward. Grapple, Eager Edge sword movement, or a suitable Warlock movement option may help. Oracle 7 is reported to complete the triumph but does not provide a separate intrinsic or schematic reward.

Rewards for all seven Oracles
Destroying all seven Oracles completes the Oracular Seeker triumph and awards the Karve of the Worm Exotic ship. The ship is different from A Thousand Wings, which belonged to the original version of The Whisper. The reported intermediate rewards include White Nail intrinsic progress and Karve of the Worm Schematic items, while the seventh Oracle completes the collection objective.
After the final Oracle, finish the mission normally if the triumph does not register immediately. Reference guide to the seven Oracle rewards and locations.
If an Oracle is missing or progress does not register
The Oracles are not visible
Complete The Whisper once and launch it again. A reported player experience indicates that the collectibles did not appear on the first run in some cases. This is not evidence that every player must complete a prerequisite, but it is the most useful first troubleshooting step.
You are looking for the wrong ship
The Into the Light version rewards Karve of the Worm. Guides referring to A Thousand Wings are describing the original mission.
Your fireteam members did not receive progress
A multiplayer registration issue was reported in which Oracles appeared to count for one player but not clanmates during the same mission. The behavior was not established as a universal rule or confirmed intended mechanic. If progress matters for everyone, have each player verify their triumph and consider running the mission again together rather than assuming the pickup registered for the whole fireteam.

You cannot find an Oracle in the darkness
Recheck the route landmarks rather than searching every wall. The Oracles can blend into the dark environment, but once spawned they are extremely bright. Increase screen visibility if necessary and pause at each landmark: the red-light room, elevator ledge, Vex node, green chamber, Taken-thrall passage, circular ledge, and Vex gate.
You are running out of time
Practice the traversal route without stopping for collectibles, then combine the route with the Oracle detours. On a timed run, avoid unnecessary fights, use movement abilities for the long gaps, and use ranged damage for Oracles that can be destroyed from above. Oracle 4 and Oracle 7 are the detours most likely to disrupt a first attempt.
Quick checklist
- First red-light cavern: turn left before the red-light jump.
- After the elevator: look upward for the hidden room instead of taking the blue route.
- Vandal sniper area: activate the Vex node and use the temporary platform.
- Green room: follow the left grassy ledges and drop into the crack near the entrance.
- Below the green room: take the low passage on the right.
- Circular ledge: drop down and left into the hidden space.
- Vex gate: climb the right-wall platforms and search behind the gate.
