It brought digital in-game cosmetics: armor ornaments and accessories inspired by Star Wars, along with emotes and finishers. Bungie specifically cited Galactic Empire troopers and royal guards as inspiration for the armor ornaments.
What was in the Destiny 2 Star Wars crossover?
The February release was a cosmetics collaboration, not a new campaign or expansion. Bungie announced Star Wars-inspired armor ornaments and accessories on January 30, 2025. Its February 4 trailer listed armor ornaments, emotes, finishers, and accessories as available in Destiny 2; a February 6 weekly update confirmed the release was live and said the finishers and emotes were available in Eververse.
Bungie’s Destiny 2 Community Team described the armor designs as “inspired by troopers and royal guards of the Galactic Empire.” The announcement identified those inspirations but did not give further item-by-item details in the cited coverage. Bungie’s January 30 announcement, February 4 trailer, and February 6 weekly update document the announcement and launch.

How the cosmetics differ from Destiny 2: Renegades
Destiny 2: Renegades is a separate, later Star Wars-inspired expansion—not another name for the February cosmetics release. PlayStation Blog detailed Renegades on September 9, 2025, describing a broader expansion with the cooperative Lawless Frontier mode, Renegade abilities, the Praxic Blade, a Blaster weapon archetype, and a dungeon planned shortly after release. Its announcement listed December 2 as the launch date.
