Devils in Devil Hunter do not all appear as ordinary roaming enemies at fixed coordinates. Depending on the devil, you may need to search a region, trigger a world interaction, enter a mission or raid, wait for an invasion, or meet faction and contract requirements. The locations and requirements below are community-reported leads—not guaranteed live spawns or a complete official database.
How devil encounters work
Use the encounter type to decide where to look. A devil listed in a region may be an ordinary enemy, while another may appear only through an interaction or as part of a contract route. Bosses, raids, invasions, and faction-locked encounters have different access conditions. The community index groups devils across these routes, but its taxonomy does not match every other guide, so treat any list as a starting point rather than a complete roster. See the community devil index.
| Encounter route | Community-reported examples | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| HQ / Floor Zero | Future, Cursed, Shark | The index describes these as permanently located at HQ. |
| World contracts | Octopus, Fortune, Tomato, Sea Cucumber, Fox, Bat, Mantis, Fish, Frog, Leech, Stone, Mold | Some are tied to specific interactions, triggers, or contract conditions. |
| Raids | Ghost, Zombie, Eternity | The index says contracts come from defeating bosses and may take multiple runs because the chance is low. |
| Invasion | Gun Devil | The index describes a server-wide event in which only one player receives the contract per invasion. |
| Faction-only | Snake Devil | Listed as Yakuza-exclusive; a separate guide describes a cave, offering, and trial. |
| Ordinary world enemies | Yurei Spirit, Ant, Fly, Rat | The index lists these as world enemies without contracts. |
These classifications are guide-reported and may change as the game is updated. A devil’s appearance in one list does not establish a guaranteed spawn timer, current drop rate, or exclusive route.
Regional spawn leads
Cemetery
The locations guide identifies the Cemetery as a Ghost Devil area and mentions it as a place to farm Ghost parts. This does not settle whether a Ghost encounter there is the same mechanic as the separate raid-contract route reported by another guide. Check the relevant activity rather than assuming either route replaces the other. See the regional locations guide.

Mountains
The same guide points to Dormant Bat Devils in the Mountains. This is a broad regional lead, not a precise coordinate or guarantee that one will be active when you arrive.
City Outskirts
The guide groups several enemies under City Outskirts. It calls Rat, Ant, Tomato, Sea Cucumber, Fish, Zombie, and Fly common there, and Mantis, Leech, Frog, Stone, and Yurei uncommon. These labels and locations are community guidance, not an official spawn table.

Reported contract triggers and prerequisites
For a contract target, look for its interaction or requirement rather than repeatedly searching the map. The steps below come from an unofficial contract guide and may not reflect every current version or route. In particular, offerings are contract prerequisites—not evidence of a boss dropping those items. See the contract locations guide.
- Tomato Devil: The guide says to visit the farm in City Outskirts, speak to the Farmer, and water the plants two or three times to trigger the encounter. The number of waterings is based on player reports.
- Fish Devil: The reported quest involves finding a Worm Devil Carcass in the Park area, returning it, and then fighting the quest giver. Another index also associates the carcass with Fish, but the sequence is not independently confirmed.
- Leech Devil: Reported in free roam or certain missions; the contract is said to require a Human Heart.
- Mantis Devil: Reported as a random map, Devil Door, or mission encounter. The contract trial is described as requiring at least 70% of boss damage while taking no more than 10% damage.
- Mold Devil: Reported across from the signal tower in an Outskirts alley and possibly in missions. The listed contract offering is 10 Human Legs.
- Octopus Devil: Reported near an abandoned car park by the Yakuza building. The guide says to defeat it to qualify for the contract.
- Sea Cucumber Devil: Reported in free roam or through a Contract Devil; the listed requirements are one arm and at least Amateur rank.
- Snake Devil: A contract guide describes a cave reached by heading north from the Farmer, then jumping a wall into the forest. It reports Yakuza membership and an offering of 20 hearts, followed by a trial. The devil index separately labels Snake faction-exclusive.
Ghost Devil: distinguish the reported routes
Two community sources describe different Ghost-related routes: the locations guide identifies Cemetery spawns and parts farming, while the FAQ reports a 10% chance for the Ghost Devil contract from a Yakuza Raid. The FAQ does not state a publication date in the opened page, and the rate is unverified. These reports may concern separate mechanics or reflect different information; neither establishes a universal route or official rate. Check current in-game activity and announcements before planning around the percentage. The fan-made FAQ is the source of that figure.

What devil drops are used for
The devil database describes rewards as including XP, Yen, and items. It describes devil parts as materials used for weapons, armor, contract sacrifices, and hybrid transformations, and groups Devil Flesh by rarity. It does not establish a complete per-devil drop table in the available entries. That means a material’s general use does not prove that a particular enemy drops it every time—or at all. Consult the devil database for its listed categories, and treat specific farm claims as provisional.
The reported 25-kill threshold
The fan-made FAQ claims that a Fiend talent requires killing the same devil type 25 times before body parts begin dropping, using Stone Devil as its example. Other cited guides do not corroborate this threshold, so treat it as an unverified mechanic rather than a dependable farming rule.

Why a devil may not appear
- You are searching the wrong encounter route. The target may belong to a raid, interaction, mission, invasion, or HQ contract location rather than regional free roam.
- A trigger or prerequisite is missing. Some reports require an item, rank, faction, offering, combat trial, or completion of another activity.
- The location is only a broad lead. Guides name regions and landmarks, but do not consistently provide coordinates, spawn timers, or guaranteed availability.
- The guide information conflicts or may be stale. In particular, Ghost’s Cemetery and Yakuza Raid reports do not establish one definitive acquisition route.
When a route fails, verify the target’s encounter category and contract conditions in the current game, then try the relevant interaction or activity instead of assuming that a listed region guarantees a spawn.
