What does Glacial Aspect do?
Glacial Aspect is a Sorcerer Legendary Aspect that causes Ice Spikes to periodically spawn and explode while Blizzard is active. It is therefore most directly relevant to a Blizzard-focused Sorcerer setup, rather than a general Ice Spike effect that triggers independently of Blizzard.

Yes. Blizzard’s 2.2 patch notes state that Ice Spikes spawned by Glacial Aspect scale with ranks of Blizzard. This is the official documented answer to whether investing in Blizzard ranks affects the aspect’s spikes.

The same notes say Ice Spike damage was standardized across Glacial Aspect, Frozen Tundra, Frozen Wake, and Blue Rose. That shared damage change does not make the effects interchangeable: they can have different triggers or secondary effects. Diablo IV Patch Notes (2.2)

What damage and Chill values are listed?
Wowhead’s Glacial Aspect database entry lists Ice Spike damage of 150–195 and a 15% Chill effect. These are third-party database values, not a current numeric tooltip confirmed in the official patch notes cited here. Check the live-game tooltip before relying on them for a build calculation. How do you get Glacial Aspect?
The official sources cited here do not establish Glacial Aspect’s current acquisition route or whether it is available through the Codex of Power. Check the current in-game Codex and item tooltip for the applicable source and effect rather than relying on older or conflicting third-party instructions.

Glacial Aspect supports a Blizzard Sorcerer setup by adding periodic Ice Spike explosions to Blizzard, and Blizzard ranks scale those spikes according to the official 2.2 notes. A specialist build guide also places the aspect in a Blizzard Sorcerer build, but that is build advice—not confirmation of a universally current best-in-slot setup.
