What leaked in Destiny 2: The Final Shape?
In a May 30, 2024 post, Bungie said “a portion of Destiny 2: The Final Shape was accidentally pushed live on PS5’s streaming service.” The studio described the exposure as limited: “A small group of players were able to play some of the campaign, access Collections, and other reward info coming in The Final Shape and Echoes.” Bungie’s incident report is the primary account.

Was Sony responsible for the leak?
Bungie identified PS5’s streaming service as where the content was accidentally made available, but its public statement did not assign fault to Sony or explain the technical cause. Calling it a “Sony leak” therefore goes beyond what Bungie confirmed: the report establishes the platform involved, not who made the mistake or how it happened.

When was The Final Shape supposed to come out?
The full expansion’s scheduled release date was June 4, 2024. Bungie had announced the move to that date on November 27, 2023, saying the expansion needed more time. Its official The Final Shape page also lists June 4, 2024 as the availability date. The May 30 exposure did not change that launch date; this was a historical incident, not an early-access route that remains available.
