Sony Interactive Entertainment’s WO2025063109A1, “Input device”, was published March 27, 2025. It lists a priority date of September 21, 2023, and a PCT filing date of September 11, 2024. The disclosure describes a magnetic attachment and biasing arrangement intended to return an operated member to its initial position without an elastic member. Its examples include controller buttons, but the description does not establish a manual analog-stick resistance adjustment.
The patent states: “The objective of this disclosure is to bias an operated member to an initial position without using an elastic member.” That describes the filing’s stated objective; it is not a statement from a Sony spokesperson. The record page labels the application pending but cautions that its legal-status information is an assumption, not a legal conclusion.
How the related Sony filings differ
Several Sony patent records concern controller inputs, but they describe different adjustments. The distinction is whether the change affects physical force or a software value, which control it affects, and what triggers the change.

The record is listed as expired. It is not a Sony patent.
