What is confirmed about the 50-million claim?
A Reddit community discussion dated July 6, 2024 repeated a 50-million-download milestone, but it does not establish who first reported the number or how downloads were counted. No official HoYoverse announcement verifying either 50 million downloads or the 72-hour timeframe was located. Where did the 40 million figure come from?
PlayStation Blog reported on June 28, 2024, before release, that Zenless Zone Zero had reached 40 million global sign-ups. Sign-ups indicate people registered interest ahead of launch; they are not downloads, active players or proof of a later download milestone. PlayStation Blog’s launch announcement is the source for that pre-release figure.
When and where did the game launch?
HoYoverse’s July 2, 2024 pre-download announcement said the game would launch on July 4 at 10:00 a.m. UTC+8 for PC, Android, iOS and PlayStation 5; pre-downloads began July 2.
