Larian Studios has announced Divinity, a new role-playing game from the team behind Baldur’s Gate 3. As of October 8, 2026, the studio has not announced a release date or window, platforms, or detailed gameplay systems. There is no confirmed “expected release date” to report; predictions and rumors are not official plans.
When does the new Divinity game come out?
Larian has not announced a release date or release window for Divinity on its official game page or press page, checked October 8, 2026. Any specific date circulating elsewhere should be treated as speculation unless Larian confirms it. The press page’s Divinity kit is marked as last updated in December 2025; that is an asset update, not a launch announcement.
What platforms is Divinity coming to?
No platforms are listed on the official game or press pages reviewed. PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo versions are therefore unconfirmed. Larian’s releases of earlier games do not establish which platforms this new game will support.
What do we know about Divinity gameplay?
Larian describes Divinity as an RPG and says it aims to be broader and deeper than the studio’s previous work, qualifying that ambition with “At least, that’s the plan.” The official page’s teaser reads: “The gods are silent. Rivellon bleeds. New powers stir.” These are promotional descriptions, not details of how the game plays.

The official pages reviewed do not specify the new game’s combat format, viewpoint, party structure, multiplayer options, or character-building systems. It is not yet established whether it will use systems from Baldur’s Gate 3 or Divinity: Original Sin 2. In particular, Larian’s FAQ describes Original Sin 2 as having its own classless character-building and combat system; that answer is about that older game, not the new Divinity.
Do you need to play Divinity: Original Sin 2 first?
No prior game is stated as a requirement. Larian says the new game will tell a completely new story while keeping some continuity and characters from earlier entries. Players familiar with the series may recognize connections, but the announced story is new. The studio does not say that playing Divinity: Original Sin 2 is necessary.
