Yes—but compatibility depends on the Turtle Beach model and how you connect it. The Recon Cloud Hybrid Controller is the clearest fit for Xbox Cloud Gaming: Xbox labels it “Designed for Xbox & Cloud Gaming” and documents wireless play on Android 8.0+ devices and Windows PCs. The Stealth Ultra and Rematch Core also support Windows PC play, but their connection options differ. Before you start, check that your controller’s documented connection method works with the device you’ll use for cloud gaming.
Does a Turtle Beach controller work with Xbox Cloud Gaming?
It can, provided the particular model and connection mode are compatible with the device running Xbox Cloud Gaming. “Turtle Beach controller” covers several products, not one universal set of wireless features.

The Xbox guidance does not name every Turtle Beach model. For a Turtle Beach controller, the most relevant documented option is the Recon Cloud: Xbox describes it as designed for Xbox and cloud gaming and says it supports wireless gaming on Android 8.0+ devices and Windows PCs.
That positioning makes the Recon Cloud the most straightforward choice among these three models if cloud gaming is your priority. It does not mean every cloud-gaming screen, browser, app or TV will support every connection method. Check the controller’s model specifications and the host device’s supported controller connections.

Which Turtle Beach models work on PC or suit cloud gaming?
All three models below have documented Windows PC support, but they are not interchangeable: the Recon Cloud offers Bluetooth and wired USB, the Stealth Ultra adds a wireless USB transmitter, and the Rematch Core is wired.

Recon Cloud: the model with the clearest cloud focus
The Recon Cloud Hybrid Controller has the broadest cloud-oriented description in the available product information. Xbox says it is built for wireless gaming on Android 8.0+ devices and Windows PCs, while Xbox console play is wired. Its Bluetooth support is the key detail if you intend to play on a phone or use Bluetooth on a Windows PC; its detachable cable is an alternative for a wired connection.
The product page lists a 10 ft/3 m detachable cable and a weight of 0.67 lb. Those details may matter if you plan to play near a PC or console, but they do not establish compatibility with every phone, tablet, TV or cloud-gaming interface. Confirm the host device and connection mode before relying on a particular setup.
Stealth Ultra: more connection choices on supported systems
The Stealth Ultra is listed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11. On Xbox and Windows, its listed options include a wireless USB transmitter and wired USB; Bluetooth is listed for Windows PCs and supported devices. Choose the mode that the host actually supports rather than assuming that Bluetooth, the transmitter and a cable all work identically on every device.
Turtle Beach lists battery life of up to 30 hours. “Up to” is a maximum listed figure, not a promise of the same runtime in every use. The cited product information does not explicitly position the Stealth Ultra for cloud gaming, so if cloud play is your main reason for buying, check the specific host-device and connection requirements rather than treating general PC compatibility as a cloud-service guarantee.

Rematch Core: a straightforward wired PC option
Turtle Beach’s FAQ describes the Rematch Core as wired, plug-and-play and officially licensed, with support for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11. If you want to avoid pairing or a wireless transmitter, its wired design is the simplest connection approach of these three. Its FAQ recommends downloading the Turtle Beach – PDP Control Hub App from the Microsoft Store to make sure the controller has the latest firmware.
The Rematch Core’s documentation establishes Windows compatibility, but it does not explicitly call out cloud gaming. A wired controller can be useful when the device running the cloud game accepts its USB connection; check that device’s controller support before assuming the cable can connect directly to a phone or TV.
Should I use Bluetooth, a USB cable or a wireless transmitter?
Use the connection method supported by both the controller and the device running the game. Bluetooth is the relevant wireless option for the Recon Cloud on Android and Windows, while the Stealth Ultra’s transmitter is documented for Xbox and Windows PC rather than as a universal phone connection.
- Choose Bluetooth when you are using a Bluetooth-capable host and a model whose documentation lists Bluetooth for that host. The Recon Cloud lists Bluetooth for Windows and Android; the Stealth Ultra lists it for Windows PCs and supported devices.
- Choose wired USB when the host has a compatible USB connection and you want to avoid wireless pairing. The Recon Cloud and Stealth Ultra list wired USB for Windows; both also list wired use on Xbox consoles. Rematch Core is wired.
- Choose the Stealth Ultra transmitter when using a supported Xbox or Windows PC setup that accepts its wireless USB transmitter. Do not assume the transmitter is the right method for a phone.
A controller’s Xbox or Windows compatibility does not, by itself, prove that a particular Android device, TV, browser or cloud-gaming app supports it. The device running the game is part of the compatibility chain.
How do I connect one for PC games?
Start with the model’s documented Windows version and connection options. Then use the appropriate method for that controller; do not try to pair a wired-only model over Bluetooth or assume a transmitter is included or supported on every host.

- Identify the exact model. Check the product name on the controller or its packaging. Recon Cloud, Stealth Ultra and Rematch Core have different documented wireless options.
- Check the Windows requirement. The Stealth Ultra and Rematch Core are listed for Windows 10/11. The Recon Cloud is described as supporting Windows PCs; the cited product information does not give a Windows version number.
- Select a documented connection. For Recon Cloud, use Bluetooth or wired USB. For Stealth Ultra, use its wireless USB transmitter, Bluetooth on Windows, or wired USB. For Rematch Core, use its wired connection.
- Connect the controller to the PC. Follow the controller’s product instructions for pairing, transmitter setup or USB connection. The available product information establishes the supported connection types but does not provide a model-by-model Windows pairing walkthrough.
- Test it in the game or service you plan to use. Windows compatibility does not guarantee that every individual PC game has the same controller support or settings. Check that game’s controller options if the controller connects but does not respond as expected.
For Rematch Core, Turtle Beach says it is plug-and-play and recommends the Turtle Beach – PDP Control Hub App from the Microsoft Store to check for the latest firmware. That recommendation is specific to the Rematch Core FAQ; do not treat it as a required step for every Turtle Beach model.
How do I use a Turtle Beach controller with Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Use a controller connection that both your model and the cloud-gaming device support. For a Recon Cloud, the documented wireless choices are Bluetooth on Android 8.0+ or Windows; for other models, verify the host and connection carefully because their product information does not make the same explicit cloud-gaming claim.
- Choose the device that will run the cloud game. It might be a Windows PC or an Android device, but support can differ across devices and cloud-gaming surfaces.
- Check the model’s connection options for that host. Recon Cloud lists Bluetooth on Android 8.0+ and Windows, and wired USB on Windows. Stealth Ultra lists Bluetooth for Windows PCs and supported devices, and its transmitter for Windows PCs and Xbox. Rematch Core is wired.
- Connect using the supported mode. For a Bluetooth setup, the host must support Bluetooth controllers; for wired play, the host must accept the controller’s USB connection. The exact pairing screens depend on the device and are not specified in the cited product information.
- Open the cloud game and check whether it recognizes the controller. Xbox’s guidance is to use a compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller. If the controller is not detected, confirm that the host supports the selected connection and that the model supports it on that host.
Xbox published its cited cloud-controller guidance on November 20, 2024, naming four example controller families. The guidance supports the general requirement to use a compatible controller; it is not a guarantee that every Turtle Beach model works on every cloud-enabled TV, browser, app or operating system.
What should I check if the controller does not work?
First separate a connection problem from a cloud-service or game-support problem. A controller may be compatible with Windows or Android in general but still fail on a particular host, connection mode or game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Check the model name and mode. The Recon Cloud, Stealth Ultra and Rematch Core have different connection options. Make sure the mode you are trying is actually listed for that model and host.
- Check the host device. Confirm that it supports the controller connection you chose—Bluetooth, USB or a wireless USB transmitter—and that it meets any stated platform requirement, such as Android 8.0+ for Recon Cloud wireless play.
- For Rematch Core, check firmware. Its FAQ recommends the Turtle Beach – PDP Control Hub App from the Microsoft Store to make sure the controller has the latest firmware.
- Check the game or cloud interface. If the device recognizes the controller but a particular game does not, check that game or service’s controller support and settings. The model’s platform compatibility alone does not establish support in every individual game.
- Try a documented alternative connection if available. Recon Cloud and Stealth Ultra list both wired USB and wireless options for Windows. Switching to a supported wired connection can help identify whether the issue is with wireless pairing or with game recognition.
Which model should I choose for cloud play and PC games?
For a cloud-first setup, the Recon Cloud is the strongest documented match because Xbox explicitly markets it for cloud gaming and lists wireless Android 8.0+ and Windows PC use. For broader documented connection options on Windows and Xbox, the Stealth Ultra offers Bluetooth, a wireless USB transmitter and wired USB. For a simple wired PC setup, the Rematch Core is the clearest fit.

Make the final choice around the device where you will play, not just the game service. Verify whether that host can use Bluetooth, USB or the Stealth Ultra transmitter, and whether the exact model lists that method for the host. A model’s general PC or Xbox compatibility is not a universal promise for every cloud-gaming app or device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Recon Cloud controller need to be plugged in to play on Android?
No. Xbox describes the Recon Cloud as supporting wireless gaming on Android 8.0+ devices, and the listed wireless method is Bluetooth. It also includes a detachable cable for supported wired setups.
Can I use the Stealth Ultra transmitter with my phone?
The cited Stealth Ultra product information lists its wireless USB transmitter for Xbox and Windows PCs, not as a phone connection. Bluetooth is listed for Windows PCs and supported devices, so check your phone’s controller support before choosing a connection.
Does the Rematch Core need the Control Hub app to work?
Turtle Beach describes the Rematch Core as plug-and-play, so the FAQ does not present the app as a prerequisite. It recommends the Microsoft Store app to check that the controller has the latest firmware.
Will a Turtle Beach controller work on every Xbox Cloud Gaming TV or browser?
The available compatibility statements do not establish support for every TV, browser or cloud-gaming app. Confirm that the specific host supports the model’s connection method and controller input.
