Battlefield 6 supports crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and crossplay is on by default. EA says console matchmaking prioritizes console players, with PC players added if there are not enough console players. You can add friends across platforms through EA Connect and invite them to a party.
Which platforms support Battlefield 6 crossplay?
EA lists Battlefield 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The PC versions are available through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store. EA’s current platform list does not include PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. EA also says there are no current plans for a Switch 2 release. That means PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play together, as can PC players and console players. Crossplay connects players across the listed platforms; it does not mean the game is available on every console generation.
How does crossplay matchmaking work?
EA says crossplay is enabled by default when you start playing. On console, matchmaking prioritizes other console players and includes PC players only if there are not enough console players. This is a console-first approach, not a guarantee that console players will never be matched with PC players.

EA’s FAQ also describes a console-only preference and warns that extended wait times may override it. That wording differs from the support page’s description of the crossplay toggle, so do not treat the preference as a guaranteed Xbox-and-PlayStation-only matchmaking pool. EA’s cross-play support guide explains the toggle and its stated effect.
How to add and invite friends on another platform
Use EA Connect to search for a friend by EA ID or platform ID, send a request, and invite them to your party once they are on your EA friends list.

- Open Battlefield 6 and press R2 on PlayStation, RT on Xbox, or TAB on PC to open EA Connect.
- Choose Player search, enter your friend’s EA ID or platform ID, then select Done.
- Find the correct result and select Add friend. Your friend can accept the request from Friend requests.
- After they appear in the Friends tab, use the Party tab to invite them.
EA says adding someone as an EA friend lets you keep playing together if that person later switches platforms.

EA says the in-game crossplay setting can only be viewed and changed on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. On either console:

- From the main interface, open the cog-shaped settings menu.
- Choose System.
- Under Setup, toggle Cross-play off.
EA says turning crossplay off limits you to players using the same platform. You cannot change the setting while you are in a party, on a server, or have started matchmaking. EA’s separate FAQ caveat about extended waits applies to its console-only preference; it does not promise an identical outcome for every setting or queue.
PC players cannot change this in-game crossplay setting according to EA’s support instructions.
