The same notes list a separate fix for FPS spikes during boss fights on PS5. They do not say that all stuttering across gameplay, platforms, or PC configurations is gone.
What Update 1.7 says it fixed
Techland’s official Dying Light: The Beast Update 1.7 announcement, labeled “Anniversary Update – Release Notes (1.7),” lists two technical fixes relevant to performance:
- “Fixed the issue with stuttering sometimes occurring in the Settings menu.”
- “Fixed the FPS spikes sometimes happening during boss fights on PS5.”
These are distinct problems: one concerns intermittent stuttering in the Settings menu, while the other concerns FPS spikes during boss fights on PS5. The note does not identify the second issue as stuttering, nor does it describe either fix as a general performance overhaul.
Does the patch eliminate stuttering during gameplay?
The Update 1.7 wording does not establish that. It specifies the Settings menu, and Techland does not provide a controlled before-and-after test, a frame-time measurement, or an estimate of how many players were affected. The announcement therefore supports saying those named issues are listed as fixed—not that every player’s stuttering, on every platform or PC configuration, has been resolved.

What earlier PC testing can—and cannot—tell you
Nick Evanson’s PC Gamer performance analysis, published September 18, 2025, reports launch-period testing across multiple hardware configurations and operating conditions. It is independent evidence about the game around launch, not a benchmark of the later Update 1.7 build, so it cannot verify how much that update changed stuttering or performance.
Don’t confuse The Beast with Dying Light 2
Techland’s franchise patch-note index also includes a DX11 stuttering note for Hotfix 1.27.1, but that entry belongs to Dying Light 2: Stay Human, not Dying Light: The Beast. For The Beast, the relevant stuttering fix in the cited announcement is the Settings-menu item in Update 1.7.

If you still encounter stuttering, note where it happens and which platform you are using: the announced Settings-menu fix and the PS5 boss-fight FPS-spike fix cover different symptoms. Techland’s Dying Light: The Beast PC Questions / Issues support index lists PC support topics, including system requirements and a DLSS Frame Generation GPU-crash topic. Those listings do not establish that a particular utility, setting, or hardware upgrade will fix the stuttering described in the patch notes.
