Yes. Remedy’s official support FAQ says FBC: Firebreak supports full cross-play between PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Cross-progression is not supported, so your saved progress stays tied to the account on the platform where you earned it. The game released on June 17, 2025, and the answers below reflect Remedy’s published information as checked in October 2026.
Which platforms can play together
Remedy’s FAQ describes cross-play as “full” across three groups: PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players on any of those platforms can join the same session, including mixed PC, PlayStation, and Xbox parties. PC is listed through both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and the developer’s game page lists the same platform set.

What cross-progression means here
Cross-progression is the feature that would let you carry a character, unlocks, or other saved progress from one platform to another. Remedy’s FAQ states that progress remains tied to each platform-specific account, so there is no cross-save path between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. If you play on two platforms, you are effectively starting separate progression on each. Cross-play still lets you play in the same group, but the saved state does not move.
Friend’s Pass: playing without buying the full game
Remedy’s Friend’s Pass guide describes the mechanic this way: “If you own the full game, the Friend’s Pass allows you to invite up to two friends to join your party and play the game with you completely for free!” The guide attributes this to Remedy’s official support documentation, and no individual speaker is named.

In practice, the owner of the full game sends an invite to up to two friends, and each friend downloads the Friend’s Pass version on their own platform. The friends do not need to own the full game. The owner must own it, and the pass is tied to that party.

- Xbox: Microsoft’s Xbox listing says the free trial requires at least Game Pass Essential on Xbox. Microsoft has been updating the Game Pass tier names, so confirm the current name of the lowest qualifying tier in the store listing before you rely on it.
- PlayStation: The PlayStation Store listing says trial use requires at least PlayStation Plus Essential.
- PC and catalog access: Remedy’s game page lists PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium) as access options.
Catalog and subscription availability depends on region and can change over time, so check the store page for your country before you subscribe. A subscription gives you access while it is active; it is not a purchase of the game.
Solo play, format, and what to expect in a group
FBC: Firebreak is a three-player cooperative shooter with player-versus-environment focus. Remedy’s FAQ says solo matchmaking is possible but challenging, and the game has no AI companions. If you want to play with a fixed group, the three-player design makes a full party the most straightforward setup.

- Confirm the platform matches the one you own, because progress does not carry over between platforms.
- If you plan to use a subscription, check the store page for your region and the current name of the required tier.
- If you plan to invite friends, confirm each friend can access the Friend’s Pass version on their own platform before the session.
Store terms, regional availability, and subscription names can change after publication. The cross-play and cross-progression answers, by contrast, come from Remedy’s own FAQ and are the most stable part of this guide.
