Why do battles look like co-op?
Tales of Arise has a party of characters who participate in combat, which can make the battles look like a multiplayer action RPG. However, the other party members are AI-controlled. PlayStation describes the combat system as combining attacks with other party members’ abilities, including Boost Strikes; that is coordinated party combat, not a second human player joining in.
Does Beyond the Dawn add co-op?

If you want a story-driven RPG to play together locally or online, Tales of Arise does not provide that in-game option.
