Bethesda’s pre-launch checklist said the game would be available to all players “starting midnight UTC on May 15.” That UTC time is the clearest reference for the global schedule; local calendar dates varied by time zone.

Why Steam showed May 14
Steam’s store page displays May 14, 2025, while Bethesda listed the standard launch as midnight UTC on May 15. A midnight UTC launch falls on the previous calendar date in locations west of UTC, so a different storefront date can reflect local date display. Bethesda’s cited materials do not specify a Steam release time for each territory, so the date difference alone does not establish a platform delay.
Where the game launched
Bethesda listed Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox App for Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5 as launch platforms. The game was also available on Game Pass on day one, according to Bethesda’s additional information page.
