What did the developers intend to change?
Producer Tatsunori Ishikawa and development director Hiroshi Nagaki describe a deliberate effort to give series fans a new experience while keeping the game focused on brawling. Their developer diary says the team chose not to build around leveling, equipment progression or roguelike systems. It also says moving the series into 3D enabled stage gimmicks, enemy techniques and reused defeat animations. These are the creators’ design goals, not evidence on their own that the finished game achieves them.

The game released in October 2025.
