Drag x Drive is Nintendo’s Switch 2-exclusive 3-on-3 wheelchair-basketball party game, and its appeal comes from using two Joy-Con 2 controllers as mouse-like pointing devices. You slide both controllers to roll, move one to turn, and lift a hand to flick your wrist for a shot. That physical pointing idea recalls what made Wii party games immediately understandable, but Drag x Drive is a new game rather than a Wii remake. Can eight people play Drag x Drive locally?
Nintendo lists local wireless play for up to eight friends. That is a console-to-console mode rather than one Switch 2 supporting eight players on a single screen, and every participant’s controller and system requirements should be confirmed before arranging a group session.

Local wireless play is the alternative when your group has compatible Switch 2 systems nearby. Solo CPU play provides an option for learning the controls or playing without an online group, but Nintendo has not published a detailed progression or training specification in the cited material.
How much does Drag x Drive cost?
Nintendo’s August 14, 2025 launch article gives a regular US price of $19.99. That is the game price, not the cost of the hardware needed for its signature mode. A newcomer may also need a Nintendo Switch 2, two Joy-Con 2 controllers if they are not included with the system, and—when using online features—a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Is Drag x Drive a Wii Sports remake?
No. Nintendo presents Drag x Drive as a new Switch 2 game. The Wii connection is an editorial comparison: both concepts make pointing or motion central enough that a group can understand the basic idea quickly. Nintendo’s official material does not identify Drag x Drive as a Wii Sports remake or port.
It also would be inaccurate to promise that it is objectively better than Wii Sports. Is the original Nintendo Switch compatible with Drag x Drive?
No. Nintendo identifies Drag x Drive as exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system. An original Switch cannot provide the game’s required Switch 2 platform and Joy-Con 2 controls.
Does Drag x Drive include Nintendo Switch Online?
