EA’s October 2024 announcement covered PC hardware specifications, the original preload schedule, console performance modes, and PS5 Pro enhancements. The dates below have passed: The Veilguard launched on October 31, 2024. EA’s official specs article links the detailed PC requirements graphic; its page text does not list the component values.
What are the PC requirements for Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
EA’s Journal #11: Specifications Spotlight links a detailed hardware-specifications graphic, with settings for ray tracing on and off. The graphic is the place to check the exact processor, graphics card, memory, storage, and other thresholds. EA’s accompanying page text does not spell out those component-by-component values, so they are not reproduced here.
EA said its minimum-spec target was accessibility: “For the minimum PC specs, we focused on making the game as accessible to as many people as possible.” That is the Dragon Age Team’s description of its approach, not a substitute for the specific requirements in the graphic.
When could players preload or start playing?
EA’s original schedule gave console players advance downloads, but no PC preload. These were October 2024 dates and are included as historical launch information.

EA attributed the absence of a PC preload to the game not using third-party DRM such as Denuvo. That explanation applies to EA’s announcement for this game, not to PC preload policies generally.
What does PS5 Pro improve?
BioWare said both console graphics modes would improve on PS5 Pro. EA described higher resolution and visual-setting improvements in both modes, while retaining the announced 30 FPS Fidelity and 60 FPS Performance targets.

- Ray-traced ambient occlusion: EA said PS5 Pro enables RTAO in 60 FPS Performance mode. The announcement said this effect on the base PS5 was available only in 30 FPS Fidelity mode.
- PSSR: BioWare credited Sony’s AI-based upscaler, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), for upgraded image quality.
These are publisher-announced features and frame-rate targets, not independent measurements. EA did not provide benchmark results or quantified image-quality comparisons in the announcement. PlayStation’s official PS5 listing labels the game “PS5 Pro Enhanced.”
