SteamDB’s chart records an all-time peak of 89,418 concurrent players on November 3, 2024. Concurrent players are people playing at the same time, so the figure clears the 85,000 threshold but does not say how many different people played over the whole weekend.
The peak is SteamDB’s platform-tracked figure, not an official Electronic Arts total. It should not be read as a sales number or as proof of commercial success or player sentiment.
When did the peak happen, and why was it opening weekend?
EA announced a worldwide launch date of October 31, 2024. The SteamDB peak came on Sunday, November 3—three days later, during the opening weekend. EA announced versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with PC distribution through Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store.

- It does not measure: total sales, total unique players, or the complete PC audience across Steam, the EA app, and Epic Games Store.
- It cannot establish: how many people played on PlayStation or Xbox, or whether the game was commercially successful or well received.
EA’s announcement also included a launch statement from creative director John Epler: “As someone who’s been working on Dragon Age for over 15 years, I know just how much our community has been looking forward to this day, and I’m equally excited to share and celebrate that the game will officially launch on October 31,”. That quote concerns the release date and community anticipation, not player counts.
