It names Mecha Frieza, Final Form Cooler, and Super Saiyan God SS Kaioken Goku as its latest additions. These are editorial rankings, not official universal placements—and a separate aggregation dated October 1 predates an official character abilities update on October 6.
Latest Dragon Ball Legends tier list rankings
Pocket Gamer’s October 6, 2026 list is the most recently dated editorial ranking located. It is labeled version 6.28 and identifies Mecha Frieza, Final Form Cooler, and Super Saiyan God SS Kaioken Goku as its latest additions. The publisher says its guide is based on its own playing experience and is intended to help with teams for story, events, co-op, and real-time PvP; that description is the publisher’s account, not independently verified comparative testing. See Pocket Gamer’s tier list.
The available details do not establish a complete character-by-character ranking from that list, so they are not enough to reproduce its full tier table here. A second useful snapshot is Game.Guide’s list from October 1, 2026. It ranks 128 characters by taking the median placement across ten current lists. Its five S-tier entries are:
- Mai (SP, Green)
- Super Saiyan Gohan (Teen) (SP, Blue)
- Vegeta (UL, Purple)
- Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta (SP LL, Green)
- Gamma 1 (SP, Green)
Game.Guide says the median method is intended to reduce the influence of an outlier list. Its results are still an aggregation of editorial lists, not an official in-game ranking. See Game.Guide’s October 1 list and methodology.

Why the dates matter
Tier lists can age quickly when characters are added or receive ability changes. Bandai Namco’s official character update page lists a Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta abilities update dated October 6, 2026. That is evidence of a recent update, not proof of Vegeta’s position on any tier list. It also means the October 1 aggregation predates a relevant official change. Check Bandai Namco’s character update notices.
Use the date and version attached to a ranking rather than treating “current” as permanent. Pocket Gamer’s October 6 list is newer than Game.Guide’s October 1 snapshot, but its newer date does not make its editorial judgments official or universally correct.

Editorial tier lists versus Rating Match tiers
A tier list published by a guide site is an assessment of character usefulness. It is different from the game’s Rating Match tier bonus system. A season notice reproduced by DBZ Space says Rating Match tiers are informed by character usage rates. It also describes a Featured category for qualifying characters—including new releases and characters with a new Zenkai Awakening or exclusive Equipment—that is independent of usage rates. The notice says those tiers apply for one season beginning September 23, 2026. Read the reproduced season notice.
That notice does not verify the live in-game Rating Match assignments on October 8, 2026. For a current season bonus, check the game’s own Rating Match display or a current official notice; do not substitute an editorial tier ranking for that information.

How to compare rankings and choose a team
When two lists disagree, first check whether they are answering the same question. One may reflect an individual editor’s view, while another aggregates multiple lists; the lists may also have different update dates or weigh game modes differently. A character’s usefulness can depend on the role and team context, so a broad ranking should not be treated as a promise of wins in every mode.
- Check the update date and version. A list published before a release or abilities update may not account for it.
- Check the method. Editorial judgment and a median drawn from multiple lists are different approaches, and neither is an official placement.
- Check the mode and team context. Story, events, co-op, and real-time PvP can call for different roles. Pocket Gamer describes its guide as covering those modes, but the located details do not provide separate mode-specific rankings.
- Separate power assessments from season bonuses. Rating Match tiers and Featured status are game mechanics, not a guide site’s verdict about a character’s overall strength.
Dragon Ball Legends is a mobile card-action game with more than 400 characters, according to Bandai Namco. The roster’s size makes dated rankings useful as a starting point, but no single tier label can establish that a character is best for every team or situation. The official page lists the game on the App Store and Google Play and describes it as free to play with some paid items and loot boxes. Visit Bandai Namco’s official game page.
