DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO’s second-anniversary roadmap, announced on 9 October 2026, points to a solo challenge mode, a five-player cooperative mode and a limited cross-play beta, alongside further modes, updates and paid DLC. These are publisher plans, not all confirmed release dates: timing and availability vary by platform.
What’s next for Sparking! ZERO?
Bandai Namco’s anniversary roadmap separates upcoming additions into several kinds of content. Tower of Power is planned as a solo challenge; Team-up is a later cooperative mode; and cross-play is currently described as a limited beta, not a confirmed full launch. The roadmap also lists Mission 100 SP, Survival Mode SP, additional updates and paid character DLC. Bandai Namco says the plans vary by platform, and some timing details are still to come.

Bandai Namco Europe’s 9 October 2026 roadmap announcement has the broad feature list. The DRAGON BALL Official Site’s 9 October summary gives target windows for two modes and clarifies which content is free.
Tower of Power: a solo challenge
Tower of Power is a new solo mode built around increasingly difficult battles. Completing it can earn Ki Aura customization items. The official DRAGON BALL site targets winter 2026; that is a planned window, not a specific release date.
#1 Best Overall
- Engage in heart-pounding, high-speed 3D battles that stay true to the anime and video game series
- This game contains breathtaking visuals and authentic combat moves like beam clashes, rush attacks, and movements too quick for the eyes to see
- Step into an arena that reacts to your every action including planet-razing ultimate attacks
- Watch the environment respond with stunning realism, and leave a trail of destruction in your wake as you battle to your heart’s content
Team-up: five players, individual 1v1 fights
The planned Team-up mode allows as many as five players to participate, with each player controlling one character and fighting in individual 1v1 battles. The official site gives a target of around spring 2027. Treat “around” as an estimate, not a guaranteed launch date.
Cross-play: a limited beta, not a confirmed full release
Bandai Namco plans a limited cross-play beta after summer 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. The publisher says more details about an official release will come later, so the announcement does not confirm when—or whether—the feature will arrive as a full release.

The official DRAGON BALL site says the free update content can be played without owning Super Limit-Breaking NEO. The paid DLC includes Limit Breaker Journey and other content. In other words, the planned free additions and the paid expansion are not the same purchase.
For context, Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s 30 July 2026 announcement lists four Episode Battles, four stages, a new solo mode and 33 playable characters in the DLC. Its launch also brought a free update with Sparking Boost and Chain Blast gameplay mechanics, plus three additional stage variants. Those were details of the July DLC release, separate from the newer anniversary roadmap.

What the roadmap means by platform
Platform is important when checking what can be played now and what to expect next. The publisher explicitly says the roadmap varies by platform, while the cited NEO announcements list current availability only for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. The later Switch and Switch 2 rollout is not dated in those sources.

|---|---|---|
| PS5 | Available as of 9 October 2026, per Bandai Namco Europe. | Roadmap applies, but timing varies by platform; the announcement does not give a complete platform-by-platform schedule. |

| Switch and Switch 2 | Planned for later; no date stated in the cited 30 July 2026 announcement or the October roadmap. | Roadmap timing and feature availability are not fully specified for these versions. |
For Switch and Switch 2 owners, the practical takeaway is to check the platform-specific announcement before assuming the DLC or a roadmap feature is available. The cross-play beta announcement names PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam; it does not list Switch or Switch 2.
Why some details remain open
The roadmap provides target seasons for Tower of Power and Team-up, but not firm launch dates for either. It also places the cross-play beta after summer 2027 without setting an official full-release date. Bandai Namco has said more details will be shared gradually. In an earlier update dated 26 January 2026, producer Jun Furutani said, “We will be sharing more details gradually, so please stay tuned for future updates.” The statement appeared in Furutani’s producer update; it is not a more specific schedule for the anniversary roadmap.
