1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo get more from pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2, match their inclinations and vocations to your needs, use commands to manage the party’s position, and set a clear, affordable pawn quest at a Riftstone. Pawns have behavioral tendencies rather than fixed scripts: they can support combat, help with exploration, and respond to commands without giving you direct control of them.
1. Choose an inclination for the behavior you want
Inclinations describe tendencies, not guaranteed actions. Capcom’s manual says all pawns serve the Arisen faithfully regardless of inclination, while also explaining that inclination affects how they behave. Capcom’s manual names four:

- Kindhearted: prioritizes aiding allies and support.
- Calm: favors survival, defense, and evasion.
- Simple: focuses on exploration and gathering.
- Straightforward: tends to rush into battle.
Choose the tendency that complements how you want the pawn to act, rather than expecting it to follow a precise combat script.
2. Remember that inclination affects travel, too
Inclination can shape a pawn’s speech and noncombat behavior as well as its approach to battle. A Simple pawn may be especially observant and gather items, while a Calm pawn may discard items it considers unnecessary. Account for these tendencies when deciding how you want to explore and manage the party’s inventory.

3. Use “Go” when a pawn points out a destination
When a pawn knows the destination for an active quest, “Go” can prompt it to lead the way. The command can also be useful after a pawn points out an item or place of interest: ask it to guide the party there. This is a way to follow a pawn’s lead, not to steer it directly. GameSpot’s March 24, 2024 guide describes these command uses.
4. Regroup with “To me” or hold back with “Wait”
Use these commands to manage where the group is in relation to you:
- “To me” brings pawns closer when you want to regroup.
- “Wait” keeps them behind when you do not want the party to approach together.
They are situational positioning tools for deciding when the party advances as a group, rather than direct control over each pawn.

- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. With the Arisen’s future veiled in mystery, what challenges and triumphs await on the path to their destiny?
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.

5. Call for “Help” when support is useful
“Help” is particularly useful when you have a pawn capable of healing. Pawns may also try to aid the Arisen when suffering a negative status effect. The command can prompt support, but it does not guarantee a particular spell or result.
6. Build a party that covers your needs
Think about the jobs you and your main pawn can already do, then fill a gap with the remaining party slots. Capcom’s manual lists Fighter, Mage, Archer, and Thief among the starting vocation choices, with different combat roles. For example, GameSpot suggests that a Fighter main pawn can complement a more vulnerable ranged Arisen. That is one possible pairing, not a universal best setup: choose roles that address your own needs.

Your party can include the Arisen, your main pawn, and up to two support pawns. You can recruit support pawns through Riftstones or while exploring. Before hiring, compare each pawn’s vocation with yours and with the roles already covered by your other pawns; level or appearance alone will not tell you whether the party has the support it needs.

8. Visit a Riftstone to set your main pawn’s quest
Riftstones are used to recruit pawns, but they are also where you set pawn quests for your main pawn. If you want to give it a task for other players to encounter, make a Riftstone part of your pawn-quest routine. Capcom’s manual describes setting these quests at a Riftstone.
9. Set a reward you can afford
A pawn quest needs a reward. When another Arisen hires your main pawn, that player receives the item or gold you specified; the item leaves your inventory, or the gold is deducted. Quests can also ask the hiring player to retrieve items. Choose a reward with its cost in mind rather than treating it as free.
10. Use pawn quests to pursue items and badges
Capcom describes pawn quests as opportunities to obtain items and pawn badges. A clear, achievable task and a reward you are willing to spend can make a quest useful over the longer term. The available information does not establish how often another player will hire your pawn, so treat those rewards as an opportunity rather than a guaranteed return.
