To complete Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge in Dragon’s Dogma 2, first give Sara the Regalia Sword during Dulled Steel, Cold Forge. After some in-game time passes, revisit Brokkr’s Smithy, follow Brokkr’s lead to Mountain Base Cave, and escort Sara back to its entrance before the blazehammer cools. Then collect the restored sword from Brokkr and deliver it to Roman in Vernworth.
Unlock the quest by returning to Brokkr’s Smithy
You must complete Dulled Steel, Cold Forge and entrust the Regalia Sword to Sara at Brokkr’s Smithy in Bakbattahl. The follow-up does not begin until you have made that choice.
Let some in-game time pass, then revisit Brokkr’s Smithy and check on Sara. Published walkthroughs disagree about the exact wait, so do not rely on a fixed number of sleeps or days. If the quest has not advanced, leave the area, let more time pass, and check the smithy again. Brokkr will direct you to Mountain Base Cave when Sara is missing.
Reach Mountain Base Cave on Agamen Volcanic Island
Your route depends on which paths you have opened. If available, the Spellseal Door southeast of Bakbattahl Palace offers access to the island; otherwise, travel through Drabnir’s Grotto. Volcanic Island Camp is a convenient starting point if you have already reached it. For route details, see GameSkinny’s quest guide and Destructoid’s walkthrough.

Find Sara inside Mountain Base Cave
The cave branches and contains dangerous enemies. Before you speak to Sara, clear threats along the route and work out how you will return to the entrance. That preparation matters because talking to her starts the short, timed escape. Avoid optional detours once the timer begins.
- After the magma-ooze room, keep right and pass the breakable wall.
- In the large room with magma lizards, take the lower eastern path.
- At the intersection, continue south. Stay on the lowest level and ignore the ramp on the right.
- Climb onto the worked stone and check the opening on the left to find Sara.
This route is described in GameSkinny’s walkthrough. The cave has side passages, but exploring them is a risk once you have started the timed return.

Escort Sara to the cave entrance before the blazehammer cools
Speak with Sara only when you are ready to backtrack. The escape window is short; GameSkinny and Gamer Guides report roughly two to three minutes, but the guides do not establish a single guaranteed timer. Retrace the path you scouted and take Sara to the cave entrance. The countdown is for reaching the entrance with her, not for the longer journey back to Bakbattahl.
Walkthroughs do not consistently document what happens if the timer expires or how a retry works, so there is no reliable basis for calling the quest permanently missable. Prioritize the direct route rather than stopping to fight optional enemies or collect loot.
