To complete Readvent of Calamity in Dragon’s Dogma 2, return to Melve as the main story advances, repel the dragon, then leave and rest before checking Ulrika’s house for a follow-up scene. After Ulrika leaves, find her in Harve Village, speak with her, and report back to Lennart in Melve. The exact trigger timing can vary with story progress, so revisit Melve periodically and finish the quest before advancing through Feast of Deception.

How to start Readvent of Calamity

Return to Melve as you progress through the Vermund portion of the main story. The quest is progression-sensitive, but walkthroughs differ on its precise prerequisites. PowerPyx lists completing Seat of the Sovran and Scaly Invaders, crossing the border into Battahl, and starting the quest before Feast of Deception. Gamer Guides instead describes returning after making progress in Vernworth and recommends clearing unfinished Melve quests if the event does not begin. A player comment on PowerPyx reports starting it before entering Battahl, so treat the listed checklist as guidance rather than a guaranteed requirement for every save.

When the dragon attack begins in Melve, help the townspeople repel it. If the encounter does not trigger, continue the main story and resolve outstanding Melve objectives, then return and check again. The guides do not identify a single universally reliable trigger checklist.

How to repel the dragon

Target the dragon’s glowing or vulnerable areas, especially around its neck, legs, or heart. Breaking weak points can stagger it and open a brief opportunity to deal more damage. The dragon may flee; the walkthroughs say killing it is not required to continue the quest.

Dragon's Dogma 2 - PS5
  • A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories.
  • Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey.
  • Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
  • Pre-order Bonus: Superior Weapons Quartet

How to trigger the scene at Ulrika’s house

  1. Leave Melve after the dragon encounter and rest for a day.
  2. Return to Melve and look for an objective marker near Ulrika’s house.
  3. If the objective or scene is not available, continue other activities, rest again, and revisit the village. More than one rest may be needed.
  4. Enter Ulrika’s house when prompted and stay overnight. The scenes that follow lead to Ulrika leaving Melve and Lennart asking you to find her.

Where to find Ulrika

Go to Harve Village after Ulrika leaves Melve. Her appearance there is tied to Trouble on the Cape. Gamer Guides says she will not appear until you have completed Monster Culling and Scaly Invaders. If she is not in the initial scene, PowerPyx suggests checking near Chandler’s General Store or the nearby path intersection.

Speak with Ulrika when you find her. Then return to Melve and talk to Lennart at Ulrika’s house to complete Readvent of Calamity.

  • Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Rewards and related quests

Walkthroughs list the quest’s completion rewards as 2,000 XP, 4,500 gold, and a Ring of Grit. Sigurd may offer the Mystic Spearhand vocation after the dragon encounter; this is an adjacent unlock, not one of the listed quest-completion rewards. Ulrika’s appearance in Harve also intersects with Trouble on the Cape, and the consulted guides list Readvent of Calamity as a prerequisite for Home Is Where the Hearth Is.

When to finish the quest

PowerPyx warns that Readvent of Calamity becomes unavailable during Feast of Deception. Because the exact trigger requirements vary between walkthroughs, the safest approach is to revisit Melve as the story progresses and finish the quest before advancing that far. The sources are secondary walkthroughs; no official Capcom quest documentation is cited for the trigger rules.
