Spoiler warning: The Unmoored World is Dragon’s Dogma 2’s post-game state, reached through an alternate progression at the end of the main story. It changes the map and travel, raises the stakes of exploration, and asks you to handle red beacon encounters while evacuating settlements. It is not a separate game or a conventional numbered chapter.
What is the Unmoored World?
It is a changed version of the game world that opens after the main story’s alternate ending progression. The sea has receded, some routes and portions of the landscape are altered, enemies are stronger, and oxcarts are unavailable. Red fog is the visible sign that pressure is mounting. The changed geography and absent oxcarts make journeys less straightforward, so exploration, travel resources, and which objective to pursue all matter more than in the ordinary world.
What are the main objectives?
The post-game’s two broad objectives are dealing with red beacons and evacuating inhabitants from major regions. These goals are connected to the changing world, but the available walkthrough guidance does not establish that every evacuation is mandatory to reach the ending.

Red beacon encounters
Beacons lead to encounters that you are expected to address as the red fog advances. Keep their locations in mind when deciding where to travel; the fog’s position offers a practical urgency signal, but the sources do not establish a universal ranked route.
Evacuations and the Seafloor Shrine

Starting this sequence early can help clarify which regional evacuation objectives are available. The walkthrough also advises that resting in the shrine bed does not advance time; treat that as guide advice rather than a universally verified rule.
How much time do you have?
There is pressure to act: guides describe a limited window as red fog spreads. However, the exact limit and what changes or halts it are not settled by the available sources. One secondary guide reports 12 in-game days, but player discussion describes conflicting behavior. Do not rely on 12 days as a guaranteed universal countdown, or assume the window is unlimited.

For practical planning, manage rests, resolve beacon encounters, and progress evacuations rather than spending time casually. If deciding between destinations, weigh how close each is to the spreading fog, the travel cost without oxcarts, and whether the trip addresses a beacon or advances an evacuation. This is a decision framework, not a proven optimal route.

- Expect tougher fights. Enemies are stronger in the Unmoored World, so avoid treating familiar routes as routine.
- Plan travel without oxcarts. The changed routes and lack of ordinary cart travel make journey costs and available Ferrystones relevant.
- Use the Shrine to orient your evacuation effort. Speak with Rothais and review the regional objectives before committing to longer trips.
- Keep the fog in view. Prioritize according to its location and avoid assuming you can postpone all objectives indefinitely.
